Still planning on VB Resort?

hey the army cor of engineers a few years go - spend time, money on putting Miami's beaches back.

No one really 'owns' beach front property, they just get to use it until the real owner reclaims it. We literally keep fighting against the tides.

The Fed rebuilds beaches all of the time. I just don't think it should be a priority like helping rebuild people's homes and the roads to get to them and the utilities they need. The beaches can wait a month or two.

and I'm another one who's going to be there in November - just 2 nights, 8-10th to recover from long-haul flight before doing the parks. As I was one of the ones turned away because of Frances, I am sooooo looking forward to seeing the resort again and wouldn't dream of cancelling.

Another way of looking at the question of whether to cancel or not - these people have already been through 2 weather related disasters, if now many of the tourists stop going, and too many of the locals move out, then they will also be faced with economic disaster, as many of them will lose their jobs due to lack of demand.

We always use our DVC points to visit Vero at least once each year, and if I were still living in North America - we would definately be there this year. That being said - I am glad that we picked this year to move overseas - namely because we always go there during the last 2-3 weeks of August and/or first 2 weeks of Sept. The thought of missing 2 hurricanes this year does give me some relief. We were in VB right before Floyd - and I don't really want to go through that too often.

That being said - if I were living in North America now, I would probably take a month off of work and travel to Florida just to help out all the friendly folks that looked after us so well for so many years!
