We're all locked in with our first "ressie" in mid-September and watch the Countdown clock daily. Can't wait! But the reason I find the term "ressie" a little funny is because our last name is "Ress".......kinda cool, I guess, 'cause we'll be hopefully making "ressies" for many years.
Just reading the term makes my lip curl up! I don't object to a lot of these abbr., I don't even mind ADR but anything ending in ie just finishes me off. I feel the same way about parents who speak to their children in annoying warbled baby talk! I don't like the abbreviation for --R E S E R V A T I O N -- so I don't use it!
I also can't stand "ressie"..."lappy" is even worse. I pitty the fool who uses a term like that in a real conversation with me. I don't think I could control myself.
