Still new to DVC and need borrowing explained!

Ok we have a trip planned already this year Nov/Dec for 12days with our points for 2006 and the extra points we got for 2005 when we signed up so we are using all of that except for 27points which we have banked already.

Here is where I am lost now.. borrowing!!
DH now wants to do a small trip in early Feb for about 4 or 5nights so points would have to be borrowed from 2007 yr since we don't get our points till august. Am I able to do this even? I would have to borrow 33 points if we did 5 nights total.

Now for the second part of this...
October we are hoping to go down the last week and enjoy the wine and food fest, celebrate MIL's birthday and do the halloween party. We would have 117 left in our 2007 points to use if we are able to borrow those 33 points for the feb trip. so we could just do the 1bedroom for 5 nights, but he wants to stay 6 or 7 so would be be allowed to borrow points from 2008 at that point.

Thanks I'm still trying to understand all of this :O) We are doing the AP w/DVC discount for this trip in Nov/Dec and really want to get our moneys worth for it.

. You have used all of your 2006 points except for the 27 you banked into 2007.

February 2007 falls within your 2006 use year (because with an August use year, 2006 points are good for stays between 8/1/2006 and 7/31/2007). Yes, you may borrow points from 2007 to take the February 2007 trip. You can't borrow back the 27 points you banked, but all of the "new" 2007 points are available to you to borrow back into your 2006 use year. You have to use the 27 points you banked between 8/1/2007 and 7/31/2008 - if you don't they are forfeited.

I am assuming the October trip is going to take place in October, 2007. If so, you can use the 27 bqanked points plus the remainder of your 2007 points and also borrow from your 2008 use year if necessary. That's because an October 2007 trip falls within your 2007 use year (8/1/2007 - 7/31/2008). You can borrow one use year ahead.

If you mean you want to go in October 2006, then no, you can't use your 2008 points for that trip.

That is what I thought and it all works out great than. And yes the Oct trip is for 2007, sorry forgot to mention that. Thanks for the info!!
