Still lining up by GRR for TSM?

We leave tomorrow for another trip to DL, and I was wondering how the line is working for Toy Story now. Are they still having you line up by Grizzly River Run and walking the line over, or is it a free-for-all at rope drop? Thanks!

When I did this back at the beginning of March it seemed to be more of a free for all than an organized walk.

Thanks! I'll be better prepared mantally now. :scared1:The organized walk was so nice...my kids didn't have to sprint for their lives.

When I was there in the summer, it seemed as if the folks using the hotel entrance got to TSM first.

I took my nephew for his first visit during his Spring Break. On Saturday, March 21, they were still using the line up by GRR.

We arrived at the turnstiles just a few minutes before 9:30am. After the countdown, we were let in at 9:30am (although the park doesn't officially open until 10am). As we walked towards Condor Flats, there were CMs telling guests to line-up by GRR if you wanted to ride TSMM. My nephew and I ended up being about 20th in line. There didn't seem to be a huge rush of people to get in line. But it did grow surprisingly quickly.

Around 9:50am or so, the lead CM started walking us towards the back of the park. There was another CM towards the back of the line. We stopped right at the GRR water wheel for a few minutes. Then we continued towards Paradise Pier--still in an orderly line. After we passed California Screamin' and then the Carrousel, we snaked thru the extended queue, then through the entire regular queue, and arrived at the loading/unloading zone at precisely 10am. They have that thing down to a science! My nephew and I had all of a 1 minute wait before we were on a ride vehicle. When we got off, the regular queue was full. It looked like around a 30 minute wait at that point.

I would definitely ask a CM at the entry plaza if there is a line for TSMM. Remember that they often open the turnstiles at 9:30am, even though the park doesn't officially open (i.e. all rides, except Soaring) until 10am. Maybe they don't do the line-up if the turnstiles don't open until 10am. I haven't tried it yet on a day that didn't have a 9:30am opening.

I'm glad to know they are still doing this! It makes it so much nicer than a mad dash for the very back of the park! When we did it last time, we grabbed FP's for Soarin before getting in line for TSMM. It worked quite well!
