WHY WAS THAT THREAD LOCKED!!!!! Seems lots of us are STILL having problems with this site and need this thread.
I understand out of frustration some did not appreciate Jason's
attempt at humor, but can't we get past that???? PLEASE,don't lock us out,we need to fix our computers.

CJ(airhead,when I'm not mad....)

Please know that Alex is working on it and if those with problems will post them on the Test Board, it may make it easier for the tech team to figure out what the problem is.
Thanks
Cathy

Maybe this will help airhead

The reason it was locked was it went off on a tangent. Please, post your problems on the tech board, as the webmasters and the tech people can help you better there, and see everythig in one place.

As someone who posted on that thread that I too was having problems with accessing the dis (as well as one that posted that I DID NOT take offense to being called a whiner), all I can say is get a sense of humor about it all and be patient (patience is the hard part for me;) ). The dis has had accessing problems before and the problems were resolved. I believe this time last year, the DIS was down for about 2 weeks or so. My patience was stretched thin then.

At first I WAS going to post my original thread about the problems with the board on the Tech Board.
I chose not to because no one ever goes there and a post is very quickly lost in the middle of all those "Test" posts. Someone already posted something on there about it on the 16th and no one has replied. Very soon, it will be on page 2 and no one will even look at it.

Rather than have the thread closed, I would have preferred a reminder about the Dis Rules. No personal attacks and STAY ON TOPIC. Isn't a reminder or warning usually the first step before closing a thread?

Everything was fine until someone chose to display his "unique" and juvenile sense of humor on a thread that he wasn't even involved in.

I'm still having trouble also. On IE right now. I am glad that this type of thread is here though because if it wasn't on the CB, I wouldn't have figured out another way to get here. I'm hoping whatever the problem is that it will be fixed soon, though.

As I stated on that thread before locking it, the proper place for the complaints IS the tech board. If no one has replied, it may be because they don't know the cause of the problem. If you put the problems you are experiencing, the browsers you are using, if it is only at certain times of day/night, that will be more helpful to Alex than bickering about it here. I will contact Alex and be sure that he checks out your comments on the Tech board tonight.
Thanks
Cathy

I can't access The DIS from AOL,but i can easily access it from my computer with MSN.Is this the basic problem?

350Z

It seems to be a problem with the new AOL...I am sure they are working on it, but if you can post on the Tech board what the problem is, when it happens, what version you are using and any other info, you may be able to help.

Thanks

I've been MIA too... couldn't get on. I have AOL 8.0 so maybe that was why?? Anyway, I figured out a way to get here, and it works fine as long as I stay away from the first main page. I just bookmarked the separate forums. ;)

It's good to be back! Now I've got to go hunt down the closed thread because my curiousity is killing me. ;)

I am adding a post here for Poohbear123 (Faith) as she can not get on and emailed me to ask what to do. She is using AOL. I suggested she try minimizing AOL and running IE to access. Not sure if she will succeed or not. I forwarded her email to tech folks.

Dan

I am back ON!!!:bounce: Just did what you said, and I am HERE!!!;) Thanks!;)

I'm having VERY slow connection as well, and I'm *not* using AOL. So it's not just AOL, though it sounds like the new AOL software is a big culprit.

(Have *no* connection at home at the moment, but that's the usual stupid cable modem acting up  )

<font color=navy>I'm on AOL dial-up, and I always minimize it to get on the DIS -- Internet Explorer is just so much better for manipulating the Web.
