I just read this 3 times as NON-THE-MED. :confused3

You got your buildings, with a sandy beach in front of it. That's it.
Don’t forget the sand fleas! :rotfl2:

nebo said:
by the way, do you know how many smoking areas are in the asmusic? 3! That's IT! Why only 3? It must look like the Chicago Fire in those areas!
Clarification, please – does this mean there’s a cow with a barn there or a soccer team? :confused:

nebo said:
Fine, why are there people ringing my door asking for money?

Our bell rang exactly once on Halloween this year. I ignored it, and apparently word got around. :rolleyes1

Actually, probably worked out best for them all, I was going to give out the Disney candy we got at the September 14th MNSSHP that we didn’t like enough to eat. That was until Meg found the bag left over from last year’s Halloween in the pantry! :cool2:

nebo said:
I ordered a combo taco plate from the Mexican counter. (gee, ya think? sure it wasn't the sushi bar?)

:happytv: TV laugh for sure!!! Plus, I thought of you the other day at a Mexican restaurant where they put a plate of GLOP in front of me! It was good – I used a straw! :thumbsup2

We hop in, and I turn the key, hit the accelerator, and slam into the cart behind us.

I don't think I'm going to call them call outs or shout outs anymore. I'll just refer to them as "heckler hits."
Ouch! Could you at least take off the rings first?!?!? :headache:

I gotta question for you...if my friend Rose goes to CHicago what's the main thing you'd recommend she do or try there? I know the city is infamous for the food, any specific restaurants or tourist stops I should relay to her~

I like to go downtown and get ice cream at Ghirardelli’s and visit the Disney Store on Michigan Avenue and pretend I’m in Downtown Disney…

But that’s just me… :flower3:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whew! Finally caught up – suppose I should head over to my own report and see if anyone’s been keeping it going…
The bathroom story had my rolling on the floor!!!!!!!!!! Only you, neebs!
Steve! and Diane!
I have been remiss in my trip report reading! Got all caught up this morning. Just a few things:
I didn't think the dole whip was all that either. Just OK. Did you try the strawberry swirl over at the Enchanted Grove? Now THAT is a snack credit to write home about IMO. And I'm not really an ice cream person.
Question: Why is there a picture of Germany from your '03 trip in your MK report? Just a test? Just sorta looks like Fantasyland? :confused3 :laughing:
RE: Wishes....we got stuck watching it over by Space Mt. last trip....never again. At least the Pakistani's weren't there.
Now that bathroom confession....just let me say....please try not to multi-task in the bathroom again, Steve. At least not in a bathroom that size. If you find the NEED to multi-task...please limit yourself by not trying to DRESS YOURSELF while seated on the toilet. K?
POOR DIANE! :flower3: I can't believe he heard you yelling for him, Diane! All that beautiful scenery at Disney CAN be hazardous to your health. Glad your ankle was OK. THAT could've been bad!
(You took a picture of her hurtie?) :rolleyes:
Did I ever mention that when I had my daughter in the hospital my pain medication was vicodin (I had a c-section)?
I never had those before, but now, oh yes, I totally understand the power of Vicodin. It's like that cheese commercial.
I have some left over. I know exactly how many too.
Diane, sorry about the fall. Nebo, well that's just par for the course I guess.
:rolleyes1
Just for you, here's a large version of my avatar....................
Your family is just as strange as you are. I'm surprised you're not in the picture too.:laughing:
That's IT, You have arrived in TR history!
You got a drive by by Disneydad! :worship: You were, in fact, "Disneydaded"!!!! :p
I am so jealous!
Clip clop, clip clop, clip clop, Bang! A Disneydad drive by.
"Hey Honey. What did you do today???"
"Laughed until I almost wet myself!!"
"HUH?"
"Nebos TR":rotfl2:
"Oh Lord we need to go by some diapers again!!!"
:rotfl:
"Hi honey, what did you do today?"
"Depends....."
Yeah, what's wrong with you? If poo humor is funny, epcot urinals must be too! Right? :hippie:
Never thought of going on Small World enebriated -- it's scary enough sober. :eek:
Great update, Nebo!
It's also the only time I can figure out what is going on in the Winnie the Pooh ride.
PS - reason I'm back...a co-worker just won an 8 day trip complete with tickets to the park for four and accomodations at the Animal Kingdom park (has been too long since I've been here, can't remember the name of the resort?) plus air fare. Told her she had to come visit the disboards if she wanted to make the most of her trip!
Hi Suzflee! We've missed you. Hey, how did you find out when you last posted? I forgot how to do that. One other question. Accomodations at the Animal Kingdom park? She's sleeping in The Boneyard?
And you do know young lady that you don't need a vacation planned to enjoy the trip reports board. :rolleyes1
Are you Col. Mustard :confused3 :rotfl2:
Yes I am, very good!
Aw, poor smidgy:hug:
How come, for her it's ten people saying poor Smidgy, are you ok dear? Instead of, "Hey you dumb broad, how can you fall down walking along a sidewalk?" Now, if I was to ever do something stupid.........
You are the funniest people! Both of you fell on the same morning?
That bathroom is pretty small too, I'm sure you were hurting. A candlestick?
I'm pretty sure it's naughty if you didn't explain :banana:
Smidgie! Your poor leg! Were you ok? Well, I know eventually were ok, but were you able to walk ok?
Wendy, I guess you never played Clue. And I know, I know, poor Smidgy.
Did you notice how extremely clever I was to put those two stories in the same chapter? I call that "covering my a,,, butt. "
Tripping report. Now THAT"S funny. Wish I thought of it.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I'm going the see the mouse in 15 days too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:
Congratulations on seeing the mouse. But why didn't you plan it for when we are there? :happytv:
Great chapter again, Nebo! Stay clear of strings. Smidgy, cut them off ok? Buy belts!
Ouch, Smidgy! Hope you are all healed up.
But the best part for me was this: it gave me an idea for a Christmas present for DH and my son :idea:
Guess what I just did? Ok don't, I'll tell ya:
I just ordered 2 copies of :
Uncle John's Triumphant 20th anniversy bathroom reader.
For the bargain price of $26 and change... (combined)
See how trip reports can affect people's lives that dont even read reports?
I hope you didn't get the hardcover ones. If you fall asleep in bed reading them, they can knock your teeth out!
haha, i liked the Clue reference too :laughing: but poor smidgy's leg - ouccch! :eek:
Great, another one got it! Considering Diane's leg, would that make her Miss Scarlet?:scared:
I think there's one word for it....................testosterone.;)
I thought it was alzheimer's
You had me laughing so hard this morning, nebo; are you sure you don't make this stuff up? No?
Oh yes, I was just sitting at the computer thinking, "How about if I'm sitting in the john, and accidentally tie my shoe around my belt, and then,,,,,,," Trust me Whogirl, you can't make up something this dumb.
Ow, smidgy! Hope your leg healed up nicely and didn't put a crimp in your touring plans! I assume you guys always have a first aid kit nearby....:rolleyes1 ...for you know who....
NO first aid kit anymore. I just bring along a paramedic.
I hope the accuweather forcast is wrong. Down to 43 degrees the first night!! I was hoping to leave the winter coats in the car at the airport and get by with a few pants/sweatshirts.
We'll be at POR. You?
Sorry to hijack Nebo.
Angela
As of last tinker, Asmu and FQ. Angela, and ,,,,,,,,,,
I was also hoping for mild weather... if it's going to be in the 40's for our night at MVMCP (the 27th) then those cute tee shirts I made are just not going to do! :rolleyes:
Lovebuzz, this will be a totally different kind of packing this time. We've never been in the winter before either, Iv'e never even brought a long sleeved shirt, much less a jacket! They say the pools are heated. Ok, what happens when you have to get out? :confused3
Yeah, I was wondering myself what people do getting out of the pool in the winter. I guess the same thing as the people in all the hottubs in Aspen in the winter....not that I would know.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: OMG Nebo, I was feeling kinda down until I read this part of the TR, now, I feel a little better but with very sore sides. I am glad you are ok. And poor Diane, just very lucky about the ankle.
Your family is just as strange as you are. I'm surprised you're not in the picture too.:laughing:
Hey, I resemble that remark! Of course I didn't pose for that picture, it wouldn't have been lady like!:snooty:
I hope you didn't get the hardcover ones. If you fall asleep in bed reading them, they can knock your teeth out!
I assumed that bathroom readers were meant for the bathroom, not for reading in bed :confused3 Silly me.....
Lovebuzz, this will be a totally different kind of packing this time. We've never been in the winter before either, Iv'e never even brought a long sleeved shirt, much less a jacket! They say the pools are heated. Ok, what happens when you have to get out? :confused3
Ya bring a towel, bathrobe, and your running shoes!:rotfl:
We've been in Jan. and Feb., the mornings and nights were chilly but the rest of the day we were all in short sleeve shirts and some of us in shorts (not me, I'm a bit colder blooded).
Steve! and Diane!
I have been remiss in my trip report reading! Got all caught up this morning. Just a few things:
I didn't think the dole whip was all that either. Just OK. Did you try the strawberry swirl over at the Enchanted Grove? Now THAT is a snack credit to write home about IMO. And I'm not really an ice cream person.
It's funny. I was reading all about those dole whip floats and thought to myself, "That's just WAY too much pineapple!" Maybe my thinking was correct, afterall!
Now the strawberry one does sound fantastic. I wonder if I could talk them into adding some strawberry topping to that one. You can never have too much strawberry!
And she always wants the "end" lounger.
She's got the Maraena thing going on too, "My space, your space, empty space, and Mission Space."
Space is a good thing! You avoid all sorts of sensory issues that can plague intrusion upon that space. (Bad breath, BO, etc.) Plus, if someone tries to randomly hug you and you've left that nice empty space, you can always duck. (I actually can stomach hugs. So don't think I'm that anal about it!)
My space quote actually came from working in special education for many years. Often my students with severe intellectual disabilities wanted to hug everyone when they met them. Since most people think a small child hugging them is cute, these students were reinforced over the years to do this. However, once they reached about 16, it wasn't quite so cute. There's nothing like a fully grown 16 year old barreling through a crowd at top speed towards you to give you a hug. (Needless to say, never stand with your back to a concrete wall when this occurs. Being reminded of the law on momentum in such a manner can be quite painful. :rotfl: ) Thus, the 'my space, your space, empty space' rhyme...imagine also using hand gestures to establish those parameters.
Lovebuzz, this will be a totally different kind of packing this time. We've never been in the winter before either, Iv'e never even brought a long sleeved shirt, much less a jacket! They say the pools are heated. Ok, what happens when you have to get out? :confused3
Well, let's see. I believe I saw a Seinfeld episode on this particular malady as it applies to the male gender. The appropriate term, ala George Castanza, is shrinkage. :rotfl2:
It was great to get back from a mentally exhausting trip to find another installation. Strangely enough, I was 'somewhat' in your neck of the woods, Nebo. I thought about dropping in to say hello but I just wasn't up for the swim across Lake Michigan. :confused3
And did I read you correctly? Were you saying that Smidgy wasn't demure?! You're a brave, brave man. If I were her, I'd be half tempted to switch out some of your Vikes for some nice laxatives. :scared:
Now that is Hilarious!!!!
Thank Ya....Ughhhh Thank Ya very Much!!!
& Hey I will Disneydad you...wait that sounded bad....I will Drive by post You>>>...still sounds bad....Never Mind!!
:rotfl:
That a way Patrick, keep it up, I figure you're about 4 feet under by now, soon you'll make the HBO show.
Great Update Nebo....I fell out of my chair when I read about your Bathroom adventures....
& finally something about Smidgy....Even if it was about her Falling down & getting a Boo Boo!!!!
Hey you can't be the star all the Time...Every once in a while others must do something stupid enough to get on your report!!!!
Hey, you know me, I am always receptive to new talents in stupidity. But I can only release that which get's past my editor. And you know who that is. :happytv: Wait I am sorry Smidgy ...I wasn't saying you are stupid...just that You Fell Down Stupidly!!!
that still sounds bad...so Never Mind...
I take back everything written above.....
DING DING DING! Six feet under! We have a WINNER! DID you read my first book, "How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Neighbors?"
:thumbsup2
I just read this 3 times as NON-THE-MED. :confused3
I believe the Non med would come from a certain Berwynian, whom I remember once wouldn't SHARE!
Clarification, please – does this mean there’s a cow with a barn there or a soccer team? :confused: Wait, you're gonna tell me that you actually follow "THE FIRE"? At least you can go out and look at a bunch of cars stuck on a stick. For those of you who don't know what the heck that means, there really is a display in Jaime's home town with about six cars stacked on top of each other with a big spindle going through them holding them together.
WHY? I have no idea.
Our bell rang exactly once on Halloween this year. I ignored it, and apparently word got around. :rolleyes1 It probably was a good thing that you didn't answer the door, wasn't it Naked Thursday and Pizza night?
Actually, probably worked out best for them all, I was going to give out the Disney candy we got at the September 14th MNSSHP that we didn’t like enough to eat. That was until Meg found the bag left over from last year’s Halloween in the pantry! :cool2:
That's funny. I recently found way in the back on the top of the fridge, an unopened bag of Chip and Dale's trail mix. The best I can figure is that it's from our first free dining trip in sept. of '05, that we picked up just to use a snack credit.
I like to go downtown and get ice cream at Ghirardelli’s and visit the Disney Store on Michigan Avenue and pretend I’m in Downtown Disney…
The bathroom story had my rolling on the floor!!!!!!!!!! Only you, neebs!
Almost had me rolling on the floor too!
Steve! and Diane!
Lex! and Melinda!
You know, that sounds good, but I used to be highly alergic to strawberries, I'd break out and look like Smidgy's shin. It seems my body has grown out of it, but not sure that's something I want to risk. I have also read somewhere that the "Dole Whips" can come in vanilla and chocolate. I'm not sure if that makes any sense to me, if anybody can verify this?
Question: Why is there a picture of Germany from your '03 trip in your MK report? Just a test? Just sorta looks like Fantasyland? :confused3 :laughing:
I told you the vikes had really kicked in that night.
Now that bathroom confession....just let me say....please try not to multi-task in the bathroom again, Steve. At least not in a bathroom that size. If you find the NEED to multi-task...please limit yourself by not trying to DRESS YOURSELF while seated on the toilet. K? ok
POOR DIANE! :flower3: I can't believe he heard you yelling for him, Diane! All that beautiful scenery at Disney CAN be hazardous to your health. Glad your ankle was OK. THAT could've been bad!
(You took a picture of her hurtie?) QUOTE]
Of course I took a picture. If I hadn't, who would have believed me?
Did I ever mention that when I had my daughter in the hospital my pain medication was vicodin (I had a c-section)?
Last time I was in a hospital concerning a birh, I sat in the A-section, front row and center.
It was a little too close for me.
I never had those before, but now, oh yes, I totally understand the power of Vicodin. It's like that cheese commercial. Cheese commercial? I don't remember seeing a warning "Be careful driving or operating dangerous machinery" on a package of Kraft Singles.
I have some left over. I know exactly how many too. Left over? From your last birth? What are you saving them for when the baby turns 18?
Diane, sorry about the fall. Nebo, well that's just par for the course I guess.
No, not par, Monica, that would have been a double bogey.
Yeah, I was wondering myself what people do getting out of the pool in the winter. I guess the same thing as the people in all the hottubs in Aspen in the winter....not that I would know.
Hey, now that you mention it, we'll be at a resort that actually has a hot tub now the last 3 nights. That might have sounded kind of fun on a cool, December night. Until so many of you had to go and tell me about the bacteria and all the diseases and crotch rot that is in those things. :scared1:
:lmao: :lmao: OMG Nebo, I was feeling kinda down until I read this part of the TR, now, I feel a little better but with very sore sides. I am glad you are ok. And poor Diane, just very lucky about the ankle.
Hi, welcome back! Glad I could make you feel better. You're also right about the ankle. I was very concerned at first about it, more than the scraped leg. What if she would have needed some of my vikes?:eek:
Hey, I resemble that remark! Of course I didn't pose for that picture, it wouldn't have been lady like!:snooty:
You're right Cheri. It would have been Winkerslike.
I assumed that bathroom readers were meant for the bathroom, not for reading in bed :confused3 Silly me.....
No, Bathroom readers are meant to be read either by the pool, or when you are multitasking in the bathroom.
Ya bring a towel, bathrobe, and your running shoes!:rotfl: :happytv: :laughing: do they make flannel bathing suits?
We've been in Jan. and Feb., the mornings and nights were chilly but the rest of the day we were all in short sleeve shirts and some of us in shorts (not me, I'm a bit colder blooded).
Hmm, what a coincidence. Someone else that I am very close to also has experience in Special Ed.
Well, let's see. I believe I saw a Seinfeld episode on this particular malady as it applies to the male gender. The appropriate term, ala George Castanza, is shrinkage. :rotfl2: Winkers, did you take up another screen name?
And did I read you correctly? Were you saying that Smidgy wasn't demure?! You're a brave, brave man. If I were her, I'd be half tempted to switch out some of your Vikes for some nice laxatives. :scared:
You're real funny, you are. :sad2: Does anybody know how to put someone on their "ignore" list? :lmao:
Ok, the Hollywood and film writers may be on strike, but this one isn't just yet. New chapter coming up tomorrow. until then, popcorn::
I have also read somewhere that the "Dole Whips" can come in vanilla and chocolate.
Aloha Isle serves all kinds of soft serve ice cream. Pineapple just happens to be one of the flavors since it's run by Dole. When we stopped there DD & I had the pineapple, DS had the vanilla, and the other DD had chocolate. The vanilla and chocolate were just regular soft serve...no pineapple added. Here's the menu:
Side Dish
Assorted Chips - Assorted chips - $2.39
Fresh Cut Pineapple Spear - Fresh cut pineapple spear.
Dessert
Dole Whip Soft Serve - Pineapple, vanilla, chocolate or swirl ice cream and rainbow sprinkles. - $2.89
Pineapple Float - Pineapple Dole Whip with pineapple juice. - $3.99
Selection of Hot Beverages - Nescafe coffee $1.69 & $1.89, hot tea or hot cocoa $1.69
Selection of Juices - Pineapple Juice $1.69 and Orange or Apple Juice $2.39
Selection of Soft Drinks - Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barq's Root Beer, and Minute Maid Lemonade $2.09 and $2.39
Congratulations on seeing the mouse. But why didn't you plan it for when we are there? :happytv:
Ummm.... because my trip was booked before your's, that's how's come!
Lovebuzz, this will be a totally different kind of packing this time. We've never been in the winter before either, Iv'e never even brought a long sleeved shirt, much less a jacket! They say the pools are heated. Ok, what happens when you have to get out? :confused3
Actually, we've been only in Dec./Jan. so I've never packed for the heat! The last time we brought too much cold weather clothing and had to buy more shorts because it was so hot! This time we will bring everything from tank tops to parkas ~ just to be safe! That reminds me I have to ask DH, "Honey, did you rent the u-haul yet?"
Seriously though, you guys are going to love the decorations!
:lmao:
I totally agree with LBAW, you two are really really gonna like the decor all around Disney for the holiday ::yes::
This is our fourth time doing the first full week of December and have had really good luck with the weather. It gets really cool at night but can be 70 to 80 and even muggy during the day.
Well, some film and tv writers may be on strike, but not this one!
Oh yes, I've written for some of the most popular shows on tv. Perhaps you 've seen some of them.
Joannie Loves Chachi.
My Mother the Car.
Edith's Place.
and Extreme Simpsons.
Yes, I've been around, ahem. :rolleyes1
Do you remember how I started the last chapter? How I'm going to get killed when I tell her I changed the trip?
Huh?
Well, wanna guess who spent ANOTHER 45 minutes on the phone yesterday with a Disney reservationalist?
(no, don't ask me to say that again!)
(or spell it)
Yes! Very good. It was ME!
Remember this phrase:
"No good deed goes unpunished!"
Memorize it.
Brand it into your forehead.
Ok, brand it into my forehead, just make sure you do it backwards, so that I can read it when I look in the mirror.
Oh no, it's not what you're thinking. OH NO!
The Smidge: "So, we now have 6 nights at ASMU, and 3 nights at FQ?"
The Neeb: "Yes Honey, isn't that GREAT? Plus we'll have a fridge for the last 3 nights."
The Smidge: "But you have us transfering on an AK, EMH day. How's that going to work?"
The Neeb: "It will work out jus,,,,,"
The Smidge: " But the day before, we're not going anywhere, it would have been a perfect day to switch!"
The Dweeb: Yes, HONEY, I know, but I had to draw th,,,,,"
The Smidge: Do you think you can take off another day from the package, and then add it to FQ? " " " " "
Here's a big surprise. Did you know that Disney likes us a lot? Once again, they waived the "change the ressie" fee, and what do you know, we got another room at FQ for 116 a night.
If December doesn't get here soon, we're going to spend 8 nights at Grand Floridian!
You know, just to save money!
By the way, back on the writers strike?
When I see them picketing on the news, ,,,,
Shouldn't all their signs be blank?
Bloody Mama says she's ok, her ankle was just twisted, and it's not like she needs stitches or anything.
PlanetHollywood here we come.
It's that rotten 15 dollar voucher you get with your package that causes this.
Fine. 15 bucks off. We just go for a couple of appetizers and split them, no big deal. A cheap, free, lunch.
Again. How could I have been such a fool?
Oh wait, it's time for another obligatory Coronado photo a gain.
07-04-2007-17.jpg
Once again, again, we drive over there. Yes, I've said this before, but I'm still not sure if this makes your trip better,,,,,, or not so better.
It's like when I open the car door and get in, Disney magic and pizie dust goes bye bye. Right, right, it can go bye bye real quick when you're standing at a crowded bus stop and waiting with 200 of your smelliest friends!
But I usually try to take Dis. Trans. when I can.
Ok, ok, I see it now.
No, not pizza dust. Pixie dust.
So put your red pens away.
Like I said, this is really the first trip that we used the car much inside of the World. And we used it today.
We were there about 2 and got a spot right in the first row. Then, we walked up the stairs to Humounga Kowabunga, well, it seemed like there were that many stairs to me,,, and at the top, the podium person greeted us, and said the maitre'd will show us to our table.
Then "podium person" teleported behind us, and led us to a table.
Teleported!
I'm not making that up. She was standing at the podium, then she said walk this way. From behind us. And no, she didn't look like Steven Tyler, or Liv for that matter.
I had already left the podium, and headed inside when I realized the two of them were identical. One problem now, and a big one.
I tried to look back for podium person, but I was too far inside the joint.
And all I saw was Bright, Streaming Light coming in now through the door.
Smidgy, and podium person, part two, had disappeared.
All I could hear was music and tvs playing. I had no idea if the restaurant was packed, or completely empty.
But it was completely DARK!
So, I froze, and just stood there waiting for Ann Sullivan to come back and get me.
(I make a great Patti Duke)
Diane finally realized her total loss and emptiness feeling that was consuming her was caused by my absence. And came back for me. Or should that be obstinence? This time she had to lead me "very carefully" through the tables, and way around to the table we were given in the back.
By that time I thought we were at PlanetPluto!
She pulls my seat out for me, and says "Sit".
I sit.
Yes, we've played this game before. I'm used to it, she's used to it. You'd think by now the table walkers are used to it.
Slowly, very slowly, my eyes start to adjust. Eventually it turned out to be more than a little busy. There were only a couple empty tables left. No wonder they put us on Pluto. Then, the Maitre'd came back and took our oder, or at least tried to.
"Uh uh. Haven't even FOUND the menu, much less read it."
Yeah, that was me.
We did order a couple of pops, then I worked on the menu.
I cheated!
Since I drove, I have my keys with me. And on my keychain, is a little flashy thingy. I used that to read the menu.
Oh, I did accidentally flash it in Diane's eyes, and now she has to relearn everything she ever knew, again.
She's up to sixth grade as we speak, so that might explain a lot to you guys.
(I'm asking for it, aren't I?)
What we ended up ordering was this combination appetizer tray that said it fed four, for 18. 95.
Wish I could remember what the heck was on it.
Ok, it had chips and salsa;
Buffalo type wings, of course, 5.
some kind of glop on a round thing, that was baked in.
and something else.
The buffalo wings were pretty good, so was the something else.
The circular glop was better once you put the guacamole and ranch dip on it.
With a couple of pops, and tax and tip, our "free" lunch still cost me another 18 bucks!
It was really a nice time. Fun to quiz each other on the movie questions that were on the screen. Then Diane asked for another pop.
To our waitress, the maitre'd that was walking past.
"Oh, I'm sorry, that's not my table, I'll try to find your waitress for you."
Diane went "HuH?"
I went "Don't look at me."
Then the same waitress came back to us.
"Yes, can I help you?"
I almost busted up laughing, Smidgy is looking around for the hidden camera.
"I just asked you for another iced tea!"
"No, that was Rita, she went and got me, an iced tee is it?"
"Um, yes."
You had to be there.
Podium girl, maitre'd, waitress one, waitress two,,,,,they were all almost identical. No, I don't think they were twins, triplets or quaddies, but they all wore the same thing, were the same height, the same weight, the same hairstyle, it was like the Stepford Wives fell on the copy machine!
ONE of them brought another tea for her, and she asked me "Which one do we pay?"
That was a great question.
Hmmm. "Hey, you're the one that can see in here, why are you asking me?"
"Ok, how about this: I throw my wallet up in the air, yell "SPUD", and see which one goes for the money?"
Luckily, between the two of us, we had the proper amount to leave, so I just stuffed the little black book and left it on the table.
Whew!
I did say when we left, "Uh honey? I think you can rule this place out as a possible future employment." "Not that I don't think you'd be good, but you'd have to step back in time until your 15, cut your legs off at your knees, probab,,,"
"I know, I know"
" And learn how to answer to the name of , "Hey, YOU!"
Seems like it's time to post a picture, doesn't it? But I don'lt have anything form here. Oh well, filler photo time:
From here, we decided to stop at Saratoga on the way back to just see what it looks like.
Aarrgh! 15 minutes later of waiting for pictures to load on Photobucket,,,, I have it.
It. All one of them. Aarrgh. I don't know why people rave about dial-up all the time, to me it's a little slow. :rolleyes1
I'll be the first to tell you , we have never stayed at a DVC before. Still haven't. But there has always been this compulsion to stay at all the Disney resorts. And we've hit most of them.
In reason.
Since we were at WL, we used the pool at WL villas, and even went inside and took a tinkle in the WLV's bathroom. So we kind of feel like we "experienced" that.
We are still missing FW, GF, The Poly, Y and B Club, Boardwalk, OKW, the Swan, and that's about it. And the Contemporary. Never stayed there either. However,,,, now don't tell anyone this,,,,,,,
We have eaten and drank at the Contemporary, swam in the Luna pool at Boardwalk, swam in the Poly pool,,,, Even once took a dip in the FW pool way back when River Country was open.
Just to say we did it!
About the only pool we haven't violated, is the one in the Land of Marita. Just haven't had a need to do so. But the truly designated DVC resorts have always been a mystery to us. And the special codes and rates and whatever, just weren't ever enough of an incentive to try them, but I've never ruled them out.
Well ya wanna know what?
We have now ruled out spending a ton of money just to stay at Saratoga Springs.
Granted, we didn't spend that much time looking around, but we both came away with the same impression.
NO THANKS!
IT's pretty I guess. Very clean. ANd I have to admit, I like the pool area, that seemed "fun" looking. But to be honest, the rest of it, and where all the streets really look like "streets," just reminded me of a condo developement in Schaumburg, a suburb of Chicago.
It just seemed like there wasn't an ounce of "pizza dust" to be found.
I don't care if you get a microwave with your studio, they're the same size as the rooms in WL or AKL. Nope, not going to spend 350 a night to stay there. Oh yeah, here's my pic:
The pool area looks good, no problem there, but the rest of it just seems "boring".
If you really knew me, you would know how hard this is for me to say, since the whole theme is based on life around Saratoga Racetrack in New York. Trust me, I'm a big horse racing fan. But even that didn't do it for me.
Having decided we've seen enough, it's time to head back to CS. Now, CS looked prettier than ever to me. At this point, our plans are still to head out once again later on to the Swan, and see what kind of trouble we can get into for karaoke there!
Golly gee, that sounds like a good place to start a chapter, no?
Yes, like it or not, you're coming with for karaoke, get ready to be emabarrassed!:rotfl2: :banana:
I'm first! Now I gotta go back and read it... be back in a jif!
