Crap! I mean CRUD. I don't know where to start. I really planned on coming home and just continuing the tr. And, like I said, just leave this trip out of it.
But there's things that have to be said about this last week, and probably said now. I don't know what to do.
Oh, MONTY, MONTY, ok, door number 3.
No, 2!
I mean door number 1. Yeah, that's it.
Ok, fine. Ok. Uh huh. Here's what I think I'll do, feel free to yell at me if it's the wrong choice. My brain can only handle so much Disney. And these trips are going to meld together in my feeble brain if I'm not careful. So, to avoid writing a chapter where we start out at Coranado, go back for a swim, midday at Pop, then do Soarin' at Animal Kingdom that night and watch Wishes before we return to our room at the Dolphin,,,,,,,,,, geesh, what was I sayin?
Oh yeah, I guess I"m going to just hit on a couple of the highlights, or lowlights, as the case may be, on this trip. And probably the next week trip. Then, I'll return to the blow by blow of the last May trip.
Geesh! squared.
Sound ok?
This truly is nuts right now. All the stuff you have to do when you return from being away for 11 days, while keeping in mind your leaving in 4 days to do it again. Only this time , Flying.
Let me tell you, I don't want to see a steering wheel for the next month! And I don't want to walk anywhere, either. We put on almost 3 thousand miles. Good thing I have my motorized skateboard. Yeah, right, I'd be in the hospital in 20 minutes if I had one.
Let's see, I'm hoping you realize that I can't possibly take care of all the posts you terrific people have entered. But a couple have to be highlighted, so let's start there.
Hmmm what kind of havoc can we run amock while he's gone??
Yep. I wouldn't expect anything less. Glad you guys were able to amuse yourselves in my absence. Shawn, and I think Sandy, as substitute teachers, you're fired!
Tell me, did the kids sign the attendance sheet with names like, Tim Burr, Jim Shoo, Frank Phurter, and Harry Ba,,,,,, well, you get my drift.
What do I look forward to for my birthday?
I look forward to spending it at Disney world.
I look forward to food and wine fest.
I look forward to a lazy river pool.
I look forward to finally meeting me some threadkillers.
But most of all...
I look forward to meeting the funniest, sweetest twice married duo whom we all lovingly call nebo and smidgy!
Happy birthday to me.
Colleen, very sweet, it'll be a treat when we get to meet. Happy Birthday! And , let me guess , you just turned 40 also?
My DH and I will be at POFQ September 23-25. When and where is the Nebo-Smidgy DISMeet?
Thanks!!
Hi Kathy, I'm sorry you won't be there for the Utahmama and LexingtonMelinda meet, (the town where nothing moves), but we'll be down the river at Riverside while your there, only problem is we won't have a car this time, but on monday morning, we'll be by the pool, and after Illuminations that night, and tuesday night, we'd love to meet you and share war stories.
This trip we did have a car, and drove over from Pop to meet up with Tiggerbell who was also staying at Frenchie. To our surprise, she turned out to be somewhat normal, and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
And,,,,, I think it was Winkers, who set the over and under bar at 2 and a half on Nebo injuries. Well, let me proudly proclaim I came in under.
Barely.
I will explain more about this tomorrow.
When I get the film developed.
Heh
I have two things I'd still like to get to tonight, the first is the Drive"
This was now our eighth time driving down there, and this time it was definately WORK!
And I'm not talking about all the road construction, that wasn't there in May, I'm talking about something else, something I had absolutely no control over.
Even when there was hardly any cars or trucks on the road, you just couldn't let your guard down. I have never seen so many vehicles drift out of their lanes, and decide we should "share" the lane I'm in. You know the reason, right? Yep, CELL PHONES! This included the 18 wheelers, they were just as bad. And not just the drifting, but the ones that would be going 80 in the passing lane, so you get over behind them to pass a bunch of trucks, and then they slow down, 75, 70, ,, all the way down to 60, and now your trying to get back in line with the trucks you just passed.
Diane was the official "cell phone" spotter. I think I would rather deal with the drunks, at least you can see them weaving up ahead, they wouldn't just get drunk as you're passing them.
Ok, I'll get off my high horse now.
Carefully. With the job being ended, I've found out you do "everything" carefully. Cobra is 800 a month. No, I don't think so. It's a strange feeling not having insurance for the first time in my life. Speaking of job feces, we did take a road trip to Lakeland one day, and I had a "semi" intervue with a guy I had met before, years ago at my shop. It's a "possible' down the road thing, but the pre talk we had on the phone went a whole bunch better then it did in person that day.
This is a "my fault" situation.
I can't hear when I'm sitting in a closed office, talking to someone across a desk. The more I tried to get him to "show me around out in the shop", well, it just wasnt working. The problem is folks just talk louder normally outside, and I hear just fine. But in an office, everything turns into hush hush mode, and I end up looking like an idiot. Once we did get out there, it went much better, even though there wasn't any machines running, it's just the way people talk.
Oh yes, first impressions mean a lot. Mine, well, not so spiffy.
It probably didn't help when he asked where we were staying, and I said "At Pop Century, in Disney."
And then he said he hated Disney, won't go there again because it got so expensive.
Yup, kinda hard to make a good first impression with your new prospective boss when you have him bent backwards over his desk with your hands around his throat!
We'll see what happens. At least he didn't call the cops, but he does want me to make out a resume to show his boss who is normally out of state.
Um, what's a rezumay?
We did look around the town a lot, but it seemed like every sub division we pulled into, was connected to a golf course. I kept looking for O.J., but never saw him, now I know why. He was in Vegas.
Something else that was a first for us the September trip. We've been down there 3 times before, and always had just incredible weather. One time in 05 hurricane Ophelia was sitting off the N. Carolina coast the whole time, trying to make up her mind which way to go. And for ten days in Orando, it never rained. Period. Nada.
last year for 7 days it rained one night for about 20 minutes.
This trip it was about 94 every day, and it rained sometime every day except the last. We have never seen it that hot and humid, including the times when we went down with the kids in June.
We would be by the pool at Pop, and there would be two clouds in the sky, I'd walk over to the smoking area, and one of them would tinkle on me. Just enough to annoy you. It was kind of like the Chinese water torture. No matter where I went, that thing would follow me. It got to the point where the smoking area folks would see me coming and take off.
"Hey guys, wait up!"
"Guys?" "Where's everyone going?"
geesh
Allrighty, I have a bunch of bills to make out yet, but I will be back tomorrow, it'll be more fun writing with the disclaimers out of the way, and not som much hanging over my head. And I definately need to give my review on the new "Canada" movie. And hopefully, I'll have a pic for you.
Goodnight, brothers and sisters in ears,,,,, neb
