We are just weeks away from another trip to WDW.... One of my preschool moms said... geez, you guys go to WDW like we go to Berwyn(son of svengolie fame) ANd I suppose that is right, this will be our 7 or 8th trip in under 2 years..

BUT ya know what???

We are all still soooooooo SIKED to be going and we wish we could stay longer than 4 nights!

Plus this trip we are tacking on 3 nights at Vero Beach... tickle pink about that too...

So much to do... so little time....

Our oldest is right at the 44 inch mark(havent measured her in a month so who knows... depending on shoes, so we will see about riding Space Mountian for the first time this trip as well as Star tours and Body wars.......

Youngest DD will try Goofy's Barnstormer for the first time this trip...

And our Boy.... who will be 9 months old (his second trip to WDW, but his first to the Parks!) will ride his first rides ever!

Life is good. Thank you DVC!

Don't even know what number trip this is for us, but BWV here we come in 10 weeks! DH, 3dds, and I can't wait to go!

We've got Thanksgiving booked at OKW and my sister and her crew will be staying at their MVC, so we'll all be at WDW together for the first time!

Like there is something wrong with this picture?

Geez, I hate when people just don't get it!LOL

Have a great trip Home!

Can't wait until our First Trip!

Like everybody 'round here says, "She's Off to DizzyWorld Again!"

Like that's a Bad thing!

I know exactly how you feel. Right now is the first itme since we have been DVC members and I do not have a reservation on the books. I can't stand it!!

Lots of people have vacation homes, rent cottages, own condos. places they go regularly for vacation. I think the problem is that too many people equate WDW with the 4 parks-period! If you made a list of all the other fun things you could do-miniature golf, boating, biking, regular golf, swimming pools, wide variety of resturaunts, etc., etc. that don't even include the parks, I'll bet people would be amazed-they just don't realize that stuff exists. So when they make those stupid comments about "Going to WDW again?", I just chalk it up to ignorance of all there is to do there.

Nothing wrong with that and you are right "Life is good!" Have a great trip!:sunny:

We have gone 2 to 3 times a year for the last 5 years. We get the same questions - it is a running joke at our office "I am going to party with the Mouse again". I have to echo what Simba's Mom said..people just don't know what it is. We usually start with "it is twice the size of Manhattan, as big as San Francisco, has 6 parks(including water parks), 20 plus resorts, multiple lakes with water sports and several golf courses..."

We are going for so many different reasons that we never dreamed of. We found out that WDW has a marathon in Jan. DW along with her WISH friends are tackling that one next year. F&W festival coming up in Oct. Braves spring traning game in Mar.. So much to see and do so little time. But with DVC we can sure try to get it all done before 2042 at least:goodvibes

There are so many firsts even though we've been several times.

My Ds is eagerly awaiting the first time he's tall enough to drive the Indy Raceway car by himself! No more carpooling at MK!

If WDW was only the 4 parks, we would not have purchased DVC. There is so much to do there than any other vacation destination.

Yep, LIFE IS GOOD!

DVC is the BEST, especially with little kids. For me I'm finding it harder to pull them out of school now that they are getting older, although I will let them miss a few days a year for a trip (we usually go around school vacations) I miss not be able to go whenever I want. However, I worked out a little deal with my oldest -- Keep getting those A's and we can celebrate Halloween at Disney.

We've been going since our kids are really young and the memories are priceless...my oldest dd meeting Cinderella , Belle, etc. when she was 3 and the awe and excitement thinking they were real princesses, character breakfasts, rides they probably would not be as interested in now that they are the ripe old ages of 6,9. Several people have always made comments that they were too young and we go too much...they "wouldn't bring their kids until they were at least 9-10." Their tunnel vision never really bothered me - just figured they were a tad jealous!!

PLUS, my kids are just getting started...test track is one of their favorites...they are anxious to try Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Mission Space next month (all the cousins are coming too). Then we're headed down for Easter to visit my parents and also staying at Vero 2 nights. Looking forward to a Halloween trip and the F&W festival and hope to just keep planning them.

I totally agree Simba's Mom. I get comments all the time at work, like "you're going AGAIN ?? Weren't you JUST there ?!" I know coworkers/neighbors who spend almost the entire summer every year down the Jersey shore. Alot of them rent for the entire summer or own houses ---so how is this any different than going to WDW 2x a year on average (for us). I wish I could go more, but between dh's and my work schedules and the kid's school schedules it's very difficult.

Tink Fans---I'm experiencing the same. Due to my work schedule, we can't vacation during holidays and summer........so I do pull my kids out alot of the time and go during the fall (Halloween--thru mid Novemeber). Our district allows 5 missed days for vacations anyway. It is getting harder---especially with my HS aged son---but we keep forkin' out the incentives to do well and he's caught up with all his work within 3 days of returning to school on average. We love the slower pace of the fall vs the summer months too.
But like I said---wish I could go more often---and I would if I could. Have a wonderful time Laurabearz. WDW never gets old as far as I'm concerned. The people who make those comments to you are clueless as to what WDW has to offer ! Their loss. Hope your kids get to experience new rides like Space Mtn and Goofy's Barnstormer this trip ! But if not, there's always the NEXT trip :jumping1:

That's right... there will always be a next trip for us and that fact alone has opened the whole World up to us. We are no longer slaves to the 4 parks... we pick and choice from a zillion and one things to do.... or do nothing at all. (We loved our NO PARK trip last September)

And... most importantly for us, we get to do it in a two bedroom onsite, full kitchen, laundry, jacuzzi tub, wonderfully themed resort, that is paid for! :bounce:

BTW I measured ODD and she is 44 1/2 inches without shoes! I think Space mountian is a go for this trip!! Test Track for sure...
YDD is 38 inches... so Splash mountian will have to wait... UNTIL NEXT TRIP!

I have a very good friend who just doesn't get Disney. Visited but got an "amusement park" type feeling from it. But then I don't get her season tickets for the Eagles Games either...... sitting on that cold seat in the rain and snow w/o your kids when I can see it better on TV. But we still love each other, just have our differences. That's why I love the boards.... lots of Disney nuts who understand ME.

I bought into DVC for the details, not the parks... the pools, miniature golf, dining, boating, strolling, FAMILY TIME, etc. In fact my last 3 trips I only went to the parks a couple hours a day. Most of my time was spent eating and enjoying my husband's company who works too much. When I got him to WDW, he barely worked. Just phone calls back home twice a day to "check" on things. So that did it for me. If WDW can make him relax and forget for a week, it's my kind of place.

Now I have kids and I am back to the parks for attractions and character greetings. I get to see it thru their eyes which makes it worth all of the weird comments from the cynics out there. When my son sees Buzzy for the first time and gets to interact w/ him, I will be on cloud nine. I, too, heard others say not to go to WDW until at least the child is 6 and if you have a younger child, the older one has to wait even longer. I thought that seemed like a good idea before kids, since most kids don't remember anything before 6 anyway. So why spend the money? But now that I have little ones, I disagree entirely. My son has been to Disney on Ice twice now, and he has beemed from ear to ear while watching the show. He may not remember it, but he sure did enjoy it when it happened. And what about Mommy and Daddy? Why do we have to wait all those years until they can remember? Don't we need vacations too? So why not go to a kid friendly place like WDW, enjoy our kids enjoying themselves, and maybe even get a night out by ourselves. It doesn't get much better than that. The visit to Disney when my son was 8 mos old was the best to date. He doesn't remember a thing... but I surely do. And it was wonderful.

So go enjoy yourself Laurabearz! I hope you have a wonderful time watching your kids ride the rides for the first time as I am sure you will! I'm just jealous I can't go as often as you. But at least I've improved from the once every 2 yr plan to the once a year plan, so I certainly can't complain. We all have family and friends who just don't get it. But that is why we have the DIS.

SIKED?! I guess that means Several Impatient Kids Expecting Disney!! :teeth:

I know just what you mean! We just returned from a short stay at the VWL for the 1/2 Marathon. We loved it so much that we decided while we were there to book another trip to VWL for this May/June! We are so sick of people saying "you're going there again?" that we aren't even going to tell anyone until it gets much closer. This will be our first completely "no parks" trip and I'm looking forward to experiencing everything else that WDW has to offer!

We are excited for each trip as if it were our first becuase we know that something will be a "first" for us when we go. This last time it was the sleigh ride at the Wilderness Lodge, before that it might be a restaurant and then the first time we had a Boardwalk view:D

People have given up on saying "Ahhhhhgaaaaain" to me when I say we are going. All I have to do is smile when people ask where we are going on vacation, and chances are they know;)
