Is housekeeping still every other day at POFQ? We'll be there in December, so I want to be prepared. Thanks!

We were at CBR a few weeks ago, and it was every other day. We then switched to BWI and they had it every day. So it seems that moderates are every other day but deluxe are every day.

During Your Stay
You can expect housekeeping services throughout your stay. Here is the schedule:

  • Rooms at Disney Moderate and Disney Value Resorts will receive housekeeping service every other day
  • Rooms at Disney Deluxe Resorts will receive daily full housekeeping service
  • Rooms at Disney Deluxe Villas will receive daily full housekeeping service unless using Disney Vacation Club Member Points or Member Cash Discount
  • If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort using Member Points or Member Cash Discounts, you will receive trash and towel service on the fourth day of your visit. If you are staying more than 8 nights, you will receive full cleaning service on the fourth day of your visit and trash and towel service on the eighth day of your visit.

Well, we were told it would be every other day during a 4-night trip a few weeks ago, but they came the day after check-in (which surprised us), the next day and then didn't come the next day - so it was two days in a row and then a day off - there didn't seem to be an established pattern.

Many thanks, everyone!

We were at FQ earlier this year and the housekeeping was sporadic but at least we didn't have to call and beg for it, which we had to do a couple of times last year. Even at AKL, where we also stayed this year, housekeeping did not come every day, which surprised and annoyed us.

If your lucky.
I'm half expecting this, which is why I'm bringing trash bags with me. It's too difficult to dump the trash when there's no liner in the trashcan, since one's room can be far away from the trash bins near the elevators.

I enjoy having housekeeping every day, and my traveling companion and I are not slobs. But I like coming back to the room and the beds are made--the way the housekeeping staff makes them, not the way I sort of throw it together--and there are fresh washcloths and towels. Also, sometimes the floor needs to be cleaned even if it was just cleaned yesterday. Depends on the weather, etc. And sometimes the trash needs to be taken out, even if it was just taken out yesterday, which is also dependent on many variables.

So . . . need? Of course it's not need. I mean, I don't need Disney to make food for me either--I could just have a big grocery order and eat in the room and make sandwiches for the parks. But I'm on vacation. I like having someone else do some of the things that I do for myself at home.

But there has to be some housekeeping. We were at AKL in December 2021 and we got housekeeping ONCE the entire week-long stay. We lived through it, but I had to call for towels twice, and fortunately, because I'd read these boards, I knew to bring my own trash bags with me. Incidentally, the lack of housekeeping was a little too obvious in the hallways, where guests were just leaving their food trays and garbage and stacks of used towels and there was no one to pick them up for days at a time. Sure, the guests should've done this, but when one is paying $700 or $800/night for a hotel room, a few basic housekeeping things are kind of expected.

To each his own, though. This is just my personal preference.

That's still not a good reason to justify housekeeping every day. Should I then just ride the buses for no reason because I help pay for them??
It is for me, no need to justify further as daily Housekeeping is now only offered at the Deluxe Resorts. Housekeeping is included for every guest room on the schedule as indicated on the link I provided. Housekeeping is an Opt-Out only service and even then your room may still be cleaned.

The buses are shared by all guests not just on site resort guests. Disney makes it available on a daily basis. You get to decide if you opt-in or opt-out. You however may miss out on Bus Driver rumors, jokes or trivia questions.

Yes, I bring trash bags with me as well. I know Disney appreciates it. Helps their bottom line. They would also love for me to bring my own toilet paper, shampoo, body wash ect.

My point is that buying anything on Disney property pays for bus transportation amungst other services that you may never use so saying I paid for it I need it doesn’t make sense especially on Disney property.

Actually, I do bring my own toilet paper and soap. But I do that everywhere. Personal preferences.
Right. I imagined that there were some guest who did this as I typed out the post, no doubt. I get that if it is a preference for some.
