We have a Disney trip this coming Decembers , My beautiful Nurse fiancée and I are AP members and have had this trip planned multiple times during covid and had to push it out to later dates. This was originally was to be a March 2020 Trip .

My question is for Fellow NY Travelers . What do we need to do ? Its so confusing . . . .

For any traveler to New York State from a noncontiguous state, US territory or CDC level 2 or level 3 country, the new guidelines for travelers to test-out of the mandatory 14-day quarantine are below:
  • For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours:
    • Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York.
    • The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days.
    • On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests comes back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test.

I flew to MCO from NY but flew back into Pa. Then drove home from there. I wore a mask and kept in a spare room and separate bath for a 8 or 9 days. I WFH and ds did the grocery shopping for us.

OH i did not travel with the people I live with , I met my dd from Va.

We plan to do the same thing in January. I was just reading Pa new rules and its confusing. I think I am ok based on the rules. I am only traveling in PA for an hour and wont make any stops.

I’m not sure what your question is because you listed everything you need to do. Get a test within 3 days of arriving back in NY. Fill out the travelers form on arrival at NY airport. Quarantine for 3 days when you get back to NY. Test on the 4th day. If both tests are negative, you can leave quarantine. If you do not get both tests, you have to quarantine for 14 days when you get home. Your fiancée should check her work place rules carefully. NY State quarantine pay will not be given if you have to quarantine due to leisure travel. Essential workers are exempt form quarantine but there is confusion about if this applies for leisure travel or work related travel. I am an RN also, our workplace will make you use PTO if you need to quarantine after leisure travel. I have cancelled 4 trips this year so I understand.

The quarantine rules apply no matter how you arrive in NY state. You are still supposed to get the tests; fill out the form online & quarantine.

This thread has posters who have recent experience traveling to/ from NY.

I second @focusondisney suggestion re checking workplace rules. I work for a healthcare system in NH in a non clinical role, I'm still prohibited from traveling beyond New England..

I'm NOT a healthcare worker BUT the nurses I'm related to in the northeast are required to use PTO or unpaid time off to quarantine in they choose to travel out of state at this time. I think you are right to recommend checking with your workplace.
