Hi All,

We're from the UK and generally travel to WDW every couple of years in either October or May.

I'm assuming, maybe very wrongly, that as the time that we travel is generally quiet in the parks I dont have to worry too much about booking 11 months in advance and I'll be ok with 7 months - in other words I can go for a resale at a less expensive resort and still stay at say the BCV.

Am I wrong ???????? Or is getting a booking in a 1br villa difficult at 7 months at these times of the year ?

Thanks

Martin

I think the answer is book where? October and May are Food & Wine and Flower & Garden respectively, so the Epcot area resorts (BCV and BWV) will be pretty difficult to book at seven months.

F&G might be possible, but F&W would be darn difficult. And, obviously, because of the size difference in the resorts, BWV will be a lot easier to book than BCV.

We were able to book a studio at BCV in mid-November for an April 29 - May 4 stay. That's a little inside of 6 months. However, I'm quite sure we would not have the same luck during F&W.

October during Food and Wine Festival the Epcot resorts are VERY popular. Also Columbus Day weekend is also crowded. May, I'm not as familiar with.

Slow times in the parks do not necessarily mean slow times for DVC. In fact, slow park days are quite popular with DVC members for that very reason. Also, the DVC points are lower during these times, again making it more popular for DVC members to book during those periods.

Love the slower less points times.

May is a great time to go. Stay away from Memorial Day Weekend, (the end of May). The crowd really picks up.

Our official home is HHI so we always have to rely on the 7 month window for booking a 2-br for the 6 of us for WDW. We've never waitlisted for WDW resorts on site (see list below). Ironically the only waitlist we've had to do so far (and it came through) was our HHI trip last June.

Don't forget that you can use your points to book the hotel resorts too during the busier times if your first choice isn't available and then ask to be put on the waiting list for your first choice.

Good luck!

You might try posting with a title like "Hard to book BCV at 7 mo window in Oct?" or something to indicate that specific question. I'm sure there's plenty of people who are trying to do this and can give you their experience.

BCV is very popular during Food & Wine. If you're prepared to be flexible with resorts, I wouldn't worry at all about booking at the 7 month window for those months.
