Still another AP question

Do you *have* to stay at a Disney Resort or SOG to get a military discount on an AP? Or any MYW ticket for that matter? My step-father is retired military, and they were thinking about getting passes and/or tickets for themselves for upcoming trips. However, they own property in Sunterra, so will not stay at SOG or even on WDW property for their visits. Anyone know anything about this?

Anyone with a Military ID card can getaccess to SoG and also can purchase tickets there. I have a neice living in South Florida whose husband is in the Army and they bought their APs at SoG. Basically they were able to get the normal prices but not have to pay the 6.5% sales tax.

I believe that that Stars and Stripes one requires you to stay at a WDW resort. It is for your "length of stay". I would not think the AP would require that. It should be like all APs. The other MYW park hopper tickets seem like they are just discounted for military. We will probably head over to SOG to buy them when we get there. I did not think about the resort issue because we stay at FW anyway. Last year, though, you had to stay at SOG for the Stars and Stripes ticket and I noticed this year it said any Disney resort. That did stick in my mind.

I know that some people by Disney tickets on base but you can not buy a AP on base. I have never checked into so I do not know....just heard!

One is not limited to the MYW Stars and Stripes (Length of Stay) tickets at SoG. You can purchase the regular MYW passes with your chocie of options just like at any WDW ticket window and you do not have to be staying on site. Just remember, you will need a military ID to get through the gate.

Yes, that is what I noticed only the stars and stripes one if for staying at the resorts.

It takes a lot of thinking and considering with all the options!
