Sticky Toffee Pudding?

Has anyone tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding at Rose and Crown?
Is it as good as it sounds, or would I be better off with another dessert?
Will I be able to get a few drinks and a dessert at the Pub w/o ordering a meal? I don't think I could make an ADR for the Pub just for a dessert and some drinks.
Any ideas?

The Pub is different from the restaurant - the Pub is a bar, walk in only, and I believe you can get most if not all the dishes from the restaurant at the Pub. The problem is that it's always packed, unless you get there at say 11:30am when they open.

Yay! I'm so excited! I will definitely stop in and try it. I usually go to Rose and Crown just for a few drinks, but I definitely want to try this now. I suppose I can just get a couple drinks and wait for a little Pub table to open up. (there's only 2 of us) I'd eat it at the bar, but I imagine that's frowned upon as the bar there isn't very wide and I've never seen anyone eating there.

Two years ago, they did an International Beer Dinner on Wednesdays
during the Food and Wine Festival, and it was held at Rose and Crown.

The dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. It was one of the most
decadent desserts I've ever had. (And this raving testimonial is from
someone who would usually want a chocolate dessert!)

I tried the sticky toffee as part of a dessert sampler and it was the absolute best of the platter. You'll love it.

Had sticky toffee in London and DH had to prevent me from licking the remains of the sauce off the plate. I normally order chocolate whatever but when in Rome...

Looking forward to trying the R&C version in December. ADR with Processional! Maybe I can lick the plate then...hmmm...

Although mine was very good, it wasn't as sweet as I like. I like desserts that are super sweet.

The dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. It was one of the most
decadent desserts I've ever had.

I remember, I'm the one that when I left to go to the bathroom, THEY TOOK MY PUDDING! Never do that to someone who's just had six beers, they'll raise a fuss and you have to get them a new pudding.

Grump! Our last trip we went to the Rose and Crown just so I could try this...would you believe they didn't have it that day?

Next time I will call before hand to make sure they have it...I was so looking forward to it!

Absolutely. It's one of my all-time favourite desserts and Rose and Crown did not disappoint with theirs. Very tasty!
