Just renewed our premium annual passes today using our DVC discount. Each adult renewal was just about $440 including tax. I thought we paid just around $400 each to renew last year, and was grumbling about that increase until I looked at the regular price of a premium annual pass without the DVC discount. I know you still get a bit of a discount if it is a renewal, but without the DVD and renewal discount, each pass was $616 including tax. WOW. We go just often enough to rationalize the cost of the annual pass, but not at the non-DVC price. Otherwise we'd be doing the Magic Your Way tickets.

So today, I am very happy with DVC, especially since I also picked up the phone to Member Services and effortlessly booked a studio in Nov at VWL (not our home resort) for after our Magic cruise. Some days it works, and today is one of them!

We have a tripped planned this summer - it will be our first as a DVC member without an annual pass - just going for 4 days and no plans for next year. It is really painful trying to decide which tickets to buy. It's so easy with the annual pass. You think nothing of going in the park to watch the fireworks at night - or once my DS had a craving for a Casey hot dog so we went in. LOL Whole different ballgame this trip and it's killing me. LOL

I noticed the increase, too. Wow is right. Without the DVC discount, we probably wouldn't get them, which I sorta think is Disney's intention. To sell fewer APs and more MYW tickets.

I was very excited to get my new AP's with the DVC discount for the first time in December :goodvibes . Sticker shock was it was the first time DS was an "adult" :scared1: Don't get me wrong, I knew he was a " Disney adult" but when the CM told me the total due  I was trying to do the math in my head to make sure the discount was there

We have never purchased annual passes, do you know what the price would be for the premium annual passes for first time buyers?
Thanks

You know we used to also enjoy the luxury of 'popping' into MK for a strawberry swirl or hopping over to see Off Kilter at Epcot. But these past few years we have been using the park-hopper passes and you know what?? We are free! We no longer have those urges that should take 20 minutes but really take 2 hours to accomplish (unless we are staying at BCV and seeing OK!). Our vacations are much more relaxed because we are not running into the park for 'a few minutes'!:goodvibes
