I am beyond thrilled. We just measured DS and he is tall enough to ride but I'm wondering if he will be afraid. He doesn't mind dark. He doesn't mind loud (the kid loves fireworks). Is the ride too much for him??? He has this new facination with Stich is the only reason I'm even contemplating this one.

It's not a "ride". I would call it an attraction. You walk thru the 1st part. Then you are led into a room where you sit down & bring a restraint over your head but you do not "move" anywhere. Everyone just sits in a circle to face Stitch. Many adults think it is pretty lame. Myself included. I would not go on it again but DS7 loved it. I'm sure your little one will too! I don't think he will be afraid.

I would not do this attraction as I personally can't stand the character of Stitch but my DW and DS(11) did it. My DW hated it but DS loved it but he was also biased going into it as Stitch is his favorite character. Why me?? Just by what they have told me and what I have read on this site, you would literally have to either force me or pay me to go in there to see it. But that's ok. It is meant to be for the kids, not for the adults. Thank goodness!!

Have a great trip! My DS9 and DS5 liked Stitch's Great Escape when we were there in August. We all agreed that we would not have enjoyed it as much if we had stood in a 70 minute line. We experienced the attraction as soon as we got to MK one morning and only waited 5 minutes.

I explained the attraction to DS5 before we took our trip and told him that it would get dark and that there would be a chili dog smell. Personally, we didn't think the chili dog smell was nearly as bad as we read people describe it on DIS. He was fine throughout the attraction. We are planning to experience it again later this week! We leave in 5 days!! :earsgirl:

ok,

i went with a 6yo girl who loved it...this is kinda how it goes...

preshow is just a robot talking about the experiments and stuff, not scarey at all...

then you enter the theater. you all sit in a seat facing the middle and a shoulder restraint comes down. stitch enters the "specimen" container and of course breaks out of it. then he spits on the crowd, burps (stinky) and runs around (the shoulder harness pushes lightly on your shoulders so you think he touches you). it was dark, but they didnt keep it really dark for more than a few seconds at a time if i remember. it really wasnt scarey at all, my cousins kids thought it was funny and very stitch like,,,,,if your child wants to go on it, go for it, if not, skip it (it is kinda lame) :flower:

All of us, kids included, hated this "ride". It is the worst ride on property in our opinions.

I would suggest one of the parents seeing this attraction first without the child and judging for yourself. You know your child best. Personally I thought it was cute and not scary at all (but I'm also an adult). The original "Alien Encounter" attraction was a lot more frightening IMO.

Personally, I didn't much care for the ride. I thought it was pretty boring, as did my 11-year old sister. The boys (8 and 5) enjoyed it, though. So I guess it just depends upon the children.

Although we hated it and my then 5 year old hated it and was scared, I think you should give it a try since you say that your DS doesn't mind noise and darkness. Maybe if the line isn't long, a parent can try it first.

I've heard of several kids loving it, just not mine!
