Hi, wondering if anyone has heard of this or had a dog with it? My sister's 4 year old mixed breed (we think part hound, part pit bull) was just diagnosed with it. It's an autoimmune disease. Symptoms have been fever, lethargy, fur on face fell off and skin is raw, and he has several lumps under his skin. There doesn't seem to be much on the Web about it. Anyone info would be greatly appreciated. Dr. said treatment is prednisone which can had adverse effects long-term so she is worried.

(((Hugs))) to the furbaby. :( I couldn't find much on the net either. Here are a couple of sites for sterile pyrogranuloma syndrome. It reportedly is rare. It looks so painful but one of the sites says that it is not.

I hope you are able to find some more information. DISers know everything, don't they? ;) You might want to email the owner of the second site to see if he/she can point you in the right direction. Good luck!
