This trip was probably the most crowded I've ever seen at Disney. We'll start off on getting there. Left Friday from Philly at 1:30, but we are driving and it is was a pain. We started off good, got to Washington D.C. at 4:00, then.......boom! Traffic, traffic, lots of traffic. In four hours we had traveled less than fifty miles. It was unbelieveable. I hate D.C. We got an exit at 8:00 past Lorton, VA. Ate at wendy's and we were back on the road. We made it to Florence, S.C at 3:00 at the Days Inn. We slept for five hours and we were back on the road. Made it to Florida at 1:30. Deciding we didn't want to go to the Daytona Beach I-4 exit, we took some random route that led us into some farm areas. Then it was onto route 304, the longest straightaway in the world. Were making our way to Orlando by backroads, it was pretty cool with no other cars around you since the DC Hell. Got into Orlando and 4:00 and got off at the Crossroad exit. We are staying at the Doubletree Suites. Very underrated hotel considering it's on Disney property. Got a great rate at $169/night. We check in and all tyake showers and relax. Decide to goto Joe's Crabshack but there is an 90 minute wait. We go across the street at Tony Roma's and wait only for 15 minutes. This place is known for their ribs. Got the grilled shrimp/half rack combo. Note: Tony Roma's Famous ribs are the ones you want, not the St. Louis Style, (they stink). We drive back to the hotel and all go to sleep.
We up at 6:45 since the Magic Kingdom was open at 8:00. Next we rode Astro Orbiter, this was my first time going on this and the view was great. Decided to do it in the morning since it gets so crowded the rest of the time. After that we got fastpasses for Space Mountain. Then we rode Winnie the Pooh (First Time), Philaharmagic (First Time), Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Then we got lunch at the Plaza Pavillion, got the famous chicken fingers (the best). After that we rode Space Moutain and the TTA. At this point and time, the crowds were getting out of hand. Space Mountain was an 80 minute wait(chump change compared to Test Track, coming later). Walk the back pathway to Mickey's Toontown and took the train to Frontierland. Then we took a raft to Tom Sawyer Island(first time). We started getting tired and decided to go back to the hotel and rest. After that we had a 5:30 res. at Ohana. The place is great. After that we rested on the beach of the poly. Also the weather was perfect out. The whole time we were there it was sunny and 80 degrees. Went back to MK and rode Pirates, Big Thunder, Haunted Mansion, watched Wishes, and rode the TTA one more. We got a hot dog at Casey's and left the park slowly. It was a good thing that we went to MK today, cause the next day on Sunday it was sold out. Got back to the hotel and we all went to sleep.
Our last full day here (quick trip). Drove to Epcot center at around 9:30. Walked right to Mission Space for the first ride. First got Test Track FP's. Could not wait for this ride(mission space). When you take off it's the wierdest feeling ever. My eyes were killing me. Overall, it was a great ride. Next we rode universe of energy and went to TT to ride. Around 11:30 the Stand by entrance was 140 minutes!(2 hrs. 20 min.) That's crazy. After we toured the countires and sampled dishes from each country from bratwurst to fish and chips. Then rode spaceship earth and decided that it was time to leave. We got back to the hotel and rested before going to Steak and shake diner. Best diner...ever. Then went to DD for shopping. Bought "This is spinal tap" on DVD. Got back to the hotel and went to bed. The next day we drove and drove and drove and drove until we got home about 11:00 am the next morning.
Overall the it was a good trip, should of thought about taking place.
And going during spring break is not a bad idea. But had a fun trip.
