anyone else watch this? Its being repeated tonight on Dave! very interesting programme as he goes form state to state, its on now, think they are showing all 6 progs tonight! I'm watching it now think florida is on this one..:)

I saw it when it was on the first time. An interesting series. :thumbsup2

Got the DVD and book for my birthday this year - really enjoyed it

Don't watch much TV (except sport) but this was one series I watched and enjoyed.

I loved this the first time it was on and watched the first episode again last night :thumbsup2

Watched it first time round and got the series on Blu-ray, enjoyed it to a point but felt that some of the episodes seemed a bit rushed and some of the states were really glossed over. Loved the New England episode, some of the scenes were pretty amazing.

The DVDs and accompanying book were my Christmas gift from Debbie and Matt Churchill this past year. I enjoyed watching the shows (twice so far) and reading the book. As mentioned in an earlier reply, it is a very brief look at each state, but my goodness, Stephen Fry managed to get to all 50 and actually talked to people in every one of them. He and his producers found some interesting characters and not always the obvious choices. For instance in my state Oklahoma known as the land of Indians and cowboys, Stephen chose to highlight a children's rodeo (cowboys for sure) but also a belly dancer who by day did charity work for the homeless. Hmmmmm? Interesting though, I thought.

I also saw most of this series - agree with PudsyChancer - I thought they probably filmed hours of footage and you got to see very little of some of the places they visited which was a shame as it was very interesting.

I thought the same, it felt like it was a bit rushed! I wanted to see more of the state.
Had to turn to a different channel though when the bit about dead bodies in bin bags was shown....:scared:

Yes - don't watch that bit while eating your tea!!

I really enjoyed the series and to be honest never really thought much of Stephen Fry but after seeing him in this i have really grown to like him.

I watched it and though I normally like Fry, he had this awful snobby "I hate FL before I've even been there" attitude which ruined the whole series for me. :sad2: It might not've been as bad as I remember, but he spend very little time there, just drove past a few places grumpily criticising everything before he left. Can't remember him speaking to anyone... But he didn't even go near WDW of course. I was really looking forward to the FL episode so it was a huge disappointment! :confused3 Sorry I'm sounding so negative, I'm not normally like this! :)
