I don't know anything about them (except they're good :goodvibes ). I want to make them for a baby shower. Thanks for any and all help.

I do know that they need to be completely dried off prior to dipping in the chocolate or the chocolate will not stick correctly. Good Luck and happy eating! :flower:

I like to buy chocolate made just for that. I think it's called dolche or something like that. It's ususally in the produce section and comes in a cardboard container (round) that you just microwave. You have to be very careful and do it at like 50% heat and stir every 30 seconds or so so it doesn't burn. The container will have directions.

Then wash and yes, make sure they are completely dry before dipping. Then just dip and turn to coat and lay on wax paper to dry and harden. You don't want to refridgerate them though because the chocolate will turn whiteish, so make them as close to the time you'll need them as you can. When they are dry, just peel them off the wax paper and put on your serving plate.

Wash the strawberries and I cut them in half length wise. then dry them. (if wet the water makes your chocolate lumpy). Then I use chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave 30 sec at a time stirring after each turn until smooth. dip and place on wax paper. sometimes I will put my paper in the freezer to get in cold before I use it to help them set faster.

hth..enjoy!

Another vote for the Dolci here. I just made them the other day. As mentioned above you can find the tubs in the produce section, or I got mine as a4 pack in Costco.

I just use the melting caps I can get locally in the bulk food aisle. It's the same stuff I use to make other candy, so what ACMoore sells would work too. (My aunt uses that.)

I've always washed the berries & put them in a colander to drain, but never worried about making sure they were dry. I've never had a problem if they were still damp or had water droplets on them. :confused3 I also put mine in the fridge to keep and never had them turn white. I always associated that with either being too cold (like the freezer) or being stored too long...but ours never last more than 2 days anyay! LOL

Just be careful you don't overheat the chocolate. It doesn't need to look melted to be done. Usually stirring it when it looks really "wet" will be enough.

put wax paper on a cookie sheet
all you need is 1 bag choc. chips...and 1 teaspoon crisco.
melt on low if you dont have a double boiler...
once all melted...hold by stems (make sure the strawberries have been washed) and dip...
place on wax paper
once all of them are done place in fridge to dry...
eat.
