I want to get my 2 year old dd a plan kitchen for Christmas this year....but I want to get the best possible deal I can so it's not the only thing she gets. I like the Step 2 products really well and am looking at the Lifestyle Dream, Custom, New Traditions, or Prepare and Share models. Any suggestions on where and when I will find the best deal? We are also planning on going on vacation the week after Thanksgiving so I would really like to have everything all bought and tucked away before then...but depending on the savings may wait if necessary.
Thanks for any help you have to offer :)

only place I can think of is warehouse clubs sometimes have this stuff around holiday time.

You can find gently used kitchens at consignment sales and shops all the time. I know that's where I sold my Step2 kitchen! Two ear olds can't tell if something is from the consignment store! You can save big bucks by shopping those kinds of sales.

We still have ours from 10 years ago and I'm having trouble getting rid of it 'cause it's nicer than any of the newer ones..

We got the custom kitchen from walmart about 4 yrs ago and they were by far the best price. Just shop around and check out places like Sam's and costco as well.

I agree the Step2 kitchens are great and tend to hold up really well, and since they take up a lot of space people are always trying to get rid of them. I've seen almost brand-new looking ones at consignment shops.

We have the Lifestyle Custom version, which we got at Target for around $80. Still looks great after 4 years, and the kids always play with it. Most Step 2 stuff is Made in the USA, too, which is a nice thing. :)

I've been checking Craigslist....maybe everyone is getting geared to the holidays....LOL! :rotfl2: I will just keep looking. Thanks for all the suggestions. And it's funny...someone on Craigslist is doing the customs from nightstand or ET centers....but of course charging more than the Step 2 ones new.

I agree... check consignment shops and craigslist.. there's bound to be one popping up soon. And a 2 yr old won't have any idea if it's used or not, :)

Good luck!

Shame ya don't live around here.. I just checked our craigslist and there's tons of newly listed ones in really good shape, all styles, for $30-$50.

Walmart has the Step 2 Custom play kitchen for $79 both in the stores and online. I think that is a pretty good deal.
