On our last cruise we were in cabin 5020 (secret porthole) and there was no steamer trunk. Next cruise we're also in a Cat 10 (non-porthole but hoping to switch) and I was wondering if we'll find a steamer trunk in there? Since the next cruise is a 14 day I think we'll really need it.

Someone should Ask Disney what happened to the Trunk

we had 5020 and I swear there was a trunk in there FEW years back... Peter

Anybody else remember this ???

We sailed in April '03 and there was no steamer.

Our room 7005 had a large steamer trunk.

When we were in a verandah room (7538) the trunk was about 1/2 the size. I think it might have been because the room is flipped for the cat 9 and lowers, and you have to walk past the steamer? That was the only reason I could think for it to have been smaller.

may be I used the Desk drawers??/

have been in like 3 of those SPR's ....

Check the deck plan for your stateroom. For categories 5 through 10, if both of the longer walls are straight lines, there is no steamer trunk. But if one of the walls has indentations, there is a steamer trunk.

The steamer trunk sits in a recess in the wall, but some walls don't have a recess for it.

Thus, for the port side SPRs, 5020 does not have a steamer trunk, but 5022 and 5024 have one.

We were in 2141 inside stateroom Cat 10 and we had a trunk, big one. We had more storage than we knew what to do with.

Thanks Horace! I have rooms 5022 & 5024 reserved for our next cruise.

Here are pictures of the steamer trunk in 5522, a Category 10 "secret porthole" stateroom. The pictures show how the steamer trunk fits into a recessed space in the wall.

No. There is no steamer trunk in 5520 (or 5020). There is no recess in the wall for the trunk, so there is no place to put it.

As I wrote earlier in this thread, "Check the deck plan for your stateroom. For categories 5 through 10, if both of the longer walls are straight lines, there is no steamer trunk. But if one of the walls has indentations, there is a steamer trunk."

Just a note: I sailed in 6090, which, according to the deck plan, has "straight walls" - but we definitely had a steamer trunk. Perhaps the "extra-thick" wall along one side of the stateroom allowed enough room for the trunk, but I don't remember there being any indentation in the wall, just the trunk up against the wall between the TV unit and the dresser/closet.

Something to keep in mind, although 6090 may be the exception to the rule. :upsidedow
