Is there a buffet that has steamed clams or mussles? It seams to me I read about one awhile ago.

Thanks

You heard right it's called the cape may cafe located at the beach club:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hi,
I ate at the Cape May Buffett in April 08 for dinner for about a 8:30 seating and I was not super impressed as I was led to believe I would be.

The service was mediocre and I felt the actual restaurant itself was dirty. There was mashed food in the carpet in various places and there was actually food that someone had dropped on the tile floor near the soup pot and it was not cleaned up the whole time I was dining there despite my mentioning it. At the end of my meal, I asked the manager why no one had cleaned up such a slippery mess and she looked at the pile of food on the tile and said "Oh my.." as if she did not see it there all evening" and said she would get that cleaned up. Oh well, they should be lucky that no one slipped on it and got hurt.

The food was fine but the seafood was disappointing to my hubby. The mussels he said were tough and the clams were so small it would take a million to be of any worth. Alot of the hot foods and even the salads were so overly cross-mingled by the time we dined there that I was turned off to even really eat.

I know that buffets are like this so I don't expect much but something about this buffet that night just struck a wrong cord with me. Maybe we hit a bad night?

Cape may clam bake was our favorite meal throughout our trip, and we went with low expectations because of the all the negative reviews ( our second fav was Marrakesh)

Unfortunately, after the experience I had, I don't think I'll be back for a while. There is just 2 things I ask of a buffett even if the service stinks : keep the place clean and the food decent.

What I saw was not clean, the buffett line not even somewhat orderly, and the management very lax for some reason that night. However, I know that places can have off nights so I will not try to get caught up in past experiences. I will go one day again but not this trip around.

Cape May has been one of my family's favorite places to eat. Yes, clams are small...but heck, so what... we go back for more, it's a buffet!!!:goodvibes
