Can anyone give me some info? SIL wants us all to go skiing around the first of the year. I know nothing of this area nor have I ever snow ski. SIL has been skiing but not this exact place but she does mention a ski in/ski out is a must. Has anyone stayed at one of these lodgings? I'm the researcher for this trip and I'm clueless as to what to look for.

Bear Claw I Condo
Bronze Tree Condo
Scandinavian Lodge
Spa at Storm Meadows
Storm Meadows Townhouses
Storm Meadows at Christie Base

Thanks in advance :flower:

Oh...........my favorite place! I have been skiing there for the past 15 years and I absolutely love the area, it is about 3 hours from Denver so you don't get the weekend warrior crowd, and they are very kid friendly. As far as the condos you suggested I don't think any of them would be a bad choice but you can also check out www.crs-steamboat.com. I've never stayed at a ski in ski out but they are right there. The Steamboat Grand is nice also, but you have to walk across the street to hit the slopes. Check out the Steamboat Smokehouse in town I am absolutely addicted to their "Gold Wings" and actually bring back 2 dozen frozen every year. I also take one day off of skiing and ride the back roads looking for wildlife..........antelope, deer, elk, eagles, coyotes etc.The town is small but there is plenty to do. Also if you get a chance check out the Strawberry Hot Springs, although I am usually to tired at night to enjoy much of the nightlife......getting old I guess. I love the Tugboat for burgers etc. also the Slopeside Grill which is ski in ski out has some great pizzas, calzones, etc.
You will have a wonderful stay there, the runs are never really crowded and they are wide, if you have many intermediates in your group the Sunshine side has some wonderful trails which also has some tree skiing for the more advanced skiiers...........I am envious of you, usually by now I have my ski trip planned but for some reason I am holding back this year.

Just read that you have never skiied before, this is a great place to learn, their ski schools are wonderful and also the area that I told you about has a nice long run called Tomahawk that is great for newbies, it has some small hills and is wide and long. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Are you planning on flying into Hayden or into Denver? I usually fly to Denver than drive the 3 hours since I have always gotten a better deal on air and rental cars that way, plus I get to stop in Silverthone at the outlet mall!!
