Steam trains closed next week--does that mean the whole DLRR?

Just checked the ride closures for next week and steam trains are on there. Does that mean the whole DL Railroad won't be running? Please say no! Also, is the Small World holiday overlay already done?

Yes, unfortunately. "Steam Trains" refers to the Disneyland Railroad System, located inside Disneyland Park.

No the IASW Holiday is not up yet. This is still their Halloween season. It wouldn't make sense to have all of IASW's Christmas songs and stuff up now. The reason why Haunted Mansion Holiday is already up is that it encompasses both Halloween and Christmas. IASW is running in its normal version.

On disneyland.com it looks like the trains will be running again on Thursday Oct 29th.

I'm happy about that as that is our 1st day in the park.

Major bummer about the train. That was not on the calendar when I printed it out for our trip a couple of days ago. Oh well, at least it opens up for our last day. But I am still bummed, its a tradition for us to ride the train around a time or two most days!

The train is also a great way to get from the back area of DL to DCA and rest for the weary at the same time.

That's one of my mom's favorite things to do as her father worked for the railroad and it makes her happy.
This is her birthday trip, she will be sad the trains are down.

Yeah the trains going down seemed to be a last minute thing. I have been following the ride closures and didn't see it listed until this last Monday. Our trip is right in the middle of the closure so I was pretty bummed.

I saw it on the calander yesteday. Maybe it will change again and be open a bit earlier.

I was there Sept 20-25. I think it was Sept 21 when I was waiting for the RR at the Tomorrowland station. Waited at least 20 or 25 minutes when word came that it was broke down. Add that to Space Mt & HM closed, Honey I Shrunk down, POC down, I was not a happy camper. Seemed more was closed or broke down than running.

Yep, DW & I were there 9/27 thru 10/1. It seems that there were several times in which they closed off the RR stations, and said the trains had broken down.

My guess is that they had too many breakdown incidents, and they decided to take the whole RR system down for an overhaul. Sorry that happened to all you DISers who were counting on it. Especially fairykin -- what a bummer for your mom's BDay
