Imo some of the steaks in the mdr are really good some other ones are not worth getting. I can never remember which are the good ones and which are the bad ones. I know the pepper steak is very bad. Anyone remember which are the best ones and which ones I need to stay away from? Thanks

My favorite is the beef Wellington, but it is on the " Til we meet again" menu, so it's sort of a sad meal

I think the sirloins Tom then "lighter side" menu are good. And one of the best steaks I've ever had was at the Serenity bay barbecue on Castaway Cay.

The Chateaubriand is usually really good, I just don't remember what restaurant its offered in..........
A lot of the others are hit and miss, except of course the filet in Palo, thats pretty much spot on.

I didn't like the one on the Prince and Princess menu, the NY strip, but loved the tenderloin in Animator's Palate and the Beef Wellington on the 'Til We Meet Again menu.

I actually didn't really like the beef wellington... found the puff pastry a bit soggy both times I got it. I like the BBQ steak at Serenity Beach in CC best. It was a really good medium-rare to medium, where-as in the dining room you usually have to go one level under to get the done-ness you want.

I like the Chateaubriand (Royal Court/Palace) The Terriyaki (AP) and of course the filet in Palo..(.this most recent time, it was exceptional)
My daughter LOVES the Sirloin on the Lighter Fare menu...every night, unless there are lamb chops. :)

We are going to Cabanas on Pirate night because the menu isn't that appealing in the MDR and the Cabanas steak options are delicious. It is the one free restaurant where the steaks taste as though the have been cooked to order.

Just a note - the menu being served in Cabanas for dinner is comprised of select items off the other menus available in the main dining rooms that evening. So you are only gaining the salad bar and carved item option in addition to the Pirate menu in Cabanas.

I must have gotten bad steak on 2 different cruises. Worst steaks were at Serenity Bay and at Cabanas for dinner. Both were thin and over cooked. The prime rib was just ok. I prefer the chicken over beef in the MDRs.

The sirloin on the lighter menu if it is cooked and served without hanging around is my favourite, and the beef wellington the least. The last time the pastry was soggy and the beef dry and overcooked. Most of my cruises how successful the steak tastes is entirely down to how long in advance it has been cooked and left unserved on the warming plate.
