steakhouse 71 comment

I watched a YouTube review of this item and the diner mentioned that the pork wasn’t in the menu description. I’m sorry to hear they haven’t fixed that oversight and that it impacted your meal there.

I saw one, too - I think it was DFB, but it could have been All Ears, but whoever it was, they definitely mentioned getting the burger with pork belly on it when the menu didn't mention the pork belly. I find that bewildering and just not ok.

We knew there was pork belly on the burger but only because of watching YouTube videos before hand. You shouldn't have to do that, and it most definitely should be listed on the menu.

Honestly, we didn't have the greatest experience when we had lunch at Steakhouse 71. I've been hesitant to post this as everyone raves about it, but our service was pretty bad. The food was good though, so we are going to give it a second chance in December to see if they've worked out the kinks. Our poor server was very sweet, but one of the first things he said to us was that it was his first day working the lunch service and it definitely showed. He just seemed overwhelmed and kind of confused about everything. That really shouldn't happen if the staff is properly trained. Our appetizer ended up showing up 10 minutes after our entrees and the cocktails we ordered at the very beginning came after we were completely through with the meal. All in all service was just very slow and the restaurant was not that full.

After reading the OP's post it really seems that training of the staff is an issue there. It's only been open a short time, so as I said above we are going to give it a second chance. Most people seem to have loved it so maybe we just got unlucky. Who knows?

I think you were unlucky. When we ate dinner there, our server mentioned she served at V&A for years. She definitely knew what she was doing!

Please do let Disney know. I am allergic to nitrates and nitrites, which means no pork in restaurants typically. Eating that would have made me incredibly sick. It's important that they fix it.

Even if the staff are experts, the ingredient list should be complete.

Totally agree. I was responding to a PP who had bad service, not the OP’s specific issue with the menu. Perhaps read the quote above my response to have a better understanding of my post.
