I'm considering this for my DH's birthday dinner. Is it good? Do the entrees come with things like veg and potatoes or do you have to order them separatly. He loves steak and we usually go to Outback for his birthday so I'm thinking he will like this. Is it worth the price?

I recently ate at Steakhouse55, and I would highly recommend it. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fantastic.

I had asparagus with my meal, and others at the table had potatoes au gratin & macaroni & cheese. There was plenty to share, which is what we did with the sides.

He will love SH55. The Outback does not have the same quality of meat. He would love Lugers in NY. Never had a meal I did not love.

Keep in mind that your pricing for Steakhouse 55 will be an average of about $30 per steak and sides will run about $7-$10 each.

I also ate there with Mary Jo and it was delicious. (I had to leave early and took my steak and potatoes home and it was fabulous the next day!)

Steakhouse 55 is on par with the some of the best steakhouses isn the US. We have eaten there on both trips in the last 2 vacations 2007 and 2008. Oh and by the way I love steakhouses. We will be going again this year!

so you purchase you stake at price $X.XX
than sides (I have read mention to aspargus, mac and cheese, potatos) are an add on? or come with the original price?
The way I am reading the posts I am thinking add on, but please confirm for me.
I doubt this will be a place we choose to eat this trip (making it a kids trip-- 4 and 6), but always getting info for our "next" trip

Thanks everyone.

This is definitely a high end restaurant & I think one of the most expensive @ the Disneyland Resort.

If you would like a really nice dinner, but slightly more economical, or more kid friendly, I'd recommend either Storytellers Cafe or Jazz Kitchen.

I have eaten at the steak house and it was wonderfull. Very nice staff I love eating there. You pay for everything separately. Like if you want steak that is a cost the vegies are a cost.

They are structured the same way a traditional industry steakhouse such as Ruth's Chris or Morton's Steakhouse is structured - with every single item a la carte - all side dishes, salads, etc are a separate charge.

FYI - It is fairly child friendly, as are ALL of Disney's restaurants. When Mary Jo and I went together, I saw a number of younger children there.

Ok, sounds good. :thumbsup2 My parents took us to a fancy steakhouse in Napa for my birthday this year and it sounds similar. That was very good.

Is one side of potatoes, for example, big enough for two people to share?

Please note that when we were there in January the prices were higher than listed on allears. I emailed them asking how to send an update to them but they never replied. It was very good and yes, you pay for the sides, but get quite alot and can easily share. They serve plentiful bread also.

Yikes, the prices are pretty high already, but that menu is a year old. At least it gives you an idea.

We ate there on a trip in 2007 when DD was 3y/o. We loved it but she was less than happy to be there since we had to wake her from a nap to get there. And she is horrible when getting up from a nap. They seated us in a booth so she could lay down and take her time waking up. Then half way through the meal, the Sous-Chef came out and gave our daughter a plate of the potato stack (which was FABULOUS) and had a little talk with her. She was still crabby but we got a kick out of it. Then he promptly returned to the kitchen without talking to the other tables.
DH and I are kind of foodies so we loves it. The wait staff was also great and gave DH a complementary taste of one of the wines (I was pregnant at the time and really wanting a sip).
We are headed back in May and will be back with both DD5 and DS18mo. We also saw lots of conference attendees eating there as well.

So worth the price. Hope you will be able to enjoy.

I know the OP wanted steak, so this is a little OT, but friends of ours who don't have kids love Steakhouse 55 for breakfast. I didn't even know they served it and with it right next to Goofy's I assume most go there. They said it was a quiet place to enjoy breakfast and the food was really good.

I'm just curious, since im from Napa what steakhouse your parents took you to??

I just pm'ed you. :)

Breakfast might be good too. DH also loves breakfast foods. I don't care that much for them. But I think he likes steak better.

We have had breakfast at Steakhouse 55 the past 2 mornings. It was great. Lots of food and reasonable prices. Most breakfast selections are $10 - 12. and you get a plate full. You won't leave hungry! Seems to be very kid friendly. Saw families in there each morning. Have not gone back for dinner, but the breakfast was well worth the money.

Aw I was curious too. I'm a little south of Napa, but visit there often. In fact I need to make a run to V Sattui and pick up my latest case of Cab.

I'm sure whatever restaurant it is, it's good. Haven't had a bad meal in Napa ever.

Did not know that Steakhouse 55 serves breakfast. Every time I've been to Goofy's for breakfast, Steakhouse 55 has been empty. I usually do a late PS at Goofy's so maybe breakfast service was over.

Ok, by popular demand- it was Cole's Chop House. :rotfl: They had the best hash browns as a side with dinner! Yum! I was hoping Steakhouse 55 might do that too but didn't see it on the menu. Oh well I'm sure their potatoes are good too.
