has anyone ever eaten here? if so what restaurant would you compare it to? is the steak any good? i have been disappointed by bad steak before... so i'd like to know before hand. thanks. :earseek:

Ok...this used to be Granville's Steakhouse. We've eaten there during the old, and new name changes. For my husband's birthday (this was while it was Granville's), the waitress took him to their wine room and allowed him to 'taste' a few wines, the chef came to talk with us, we loved it!! The service was awesome. Our latest ressie was on Mother's Day, and I chose this restaurant because of the experience we had before. But while the waiter was nice, it didn't have the same sparkle. It was great food, the steaks are great...but for us, we had such an unforgettable time before, that I think we were let down a little. But the food was nothing to complain about! ;)

WE ate there last year on Christmas eve when it was granvlles, the service was great, food even better, the steak was worth it.

We went there for the 1st time in July and the food was great. Ds still talks about "that really nice restaurant with the really good steak". The service was awesome and we had a really good time here.

I'm glad to see all this positive feedback about Steakhouse 55, I've never been but DH and I are going to go there for our night out alone when we go to DL in November! I do wish they would have kept the original name in honor of the hotel's original owners, but as long as the food and service is good, that's the most important!
