We've reserved Steakhouse 55 for Christmas Eve, and I was just looking at the menu and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the "prix fixe" $35 meal there:

  • Caesar Salad with Olive Tapenade Crouton
  • Petite New York Steak with Garlic and Herb Smashed Potatoes
  • Seasonal Tart a La Mode

It seems like an awfully good deal compared to paying for items "a la carte", but I am a little nervous about the term "petite" (and yes - it is the regular menu on Xmas Eve not a special meal, according to the dining line).

Anyone eaten there and have any menu advice? TIA!

Hello Newbie Mouse! DH and I ate there for our 18th wedding anniversary one year ago. I had the prix-fixe meal and really loved it. One of the best steaks I have ever had. The potatoes were delicious. It was plenty of food I thought. I was so full that I took the seasonal tart in a to go box (minus the ala mode of course:laughing:) Have a great time!

Did you notice if there were any vegetarian entrees on the menu - according to ALLeARS there aren't - we would eat there if DD was acommodated.

I didn't notice any entrees that were vegetarian but many of the starters, most of the soup and salad offerings and all the sides were vegetarian. He might be able to put a meal together out of that. There was a portobello mushroom starter that sounded yummy.

We always enjoy eating dinner at SH55. The prix fixe meal is a good deal, if that's what you would probably order anyway. But there are other items on the menu that we like better (rib eye, filet). Either way, you won't go wrong with SH55. It's one of our favorite place at DLR.

It seems like an awesome deal, for $35, when you compare it to the a la carte prices.

Re: the vegetarian thing, while you certainly can cobble something together, is surprising to not to see a vegetarian entree like pasta or something. Maybe they have one 'on request' you could ask about?

You're making a bit of a mistake with regards to the terminology.

A petite steak refers to a cut of meat from the shoulder of the cow. It is comparatively small, hence the name, but is quite tender and flavourful.

It doesn't have much to do with the size of the actual course itself, other than the meat.

I just had this last month. Very nice! I think the price was higher though..like $38? It was really good..I do like the au gratin potatoes better than the mashed though, so maybe next time I'll just get a salad and the potatoes side!..The tart dessert was nice, but my friend got the creme brulee' which looked REALLY good.

Thanks for clarifying - that's a relief!

From my experience, Disney is usually very good about special meals. If you really want to eat there, you should call Steakhouse 55 directly and speak to the manager or chef. I have had to have special meals created a couple of times for my daughter.

We have had the prix fixe as well and were more than happy with it! we also ordered a side of asparagus to share, and we were more than stuffed! :thumbsup2
