Staying parked at resort

If we split our stay between on-site (Bay Lake) and off-site, on the change over day, how long can we stay parked at Bay Lake? If we check out can we have the car loaded and it stay there while we enjoy MK for the day? Or do we have to relocate to magic kingdom parking lot?
