staying outside disney

My DH and I are planning on taking a short 3-5 day trip to WDW with our three kids. We have also considered staying at the Tropical Palm Resort. Has anyone ever stayed there and what was your experience. Did you also purchase the Disney Tickets thru the Resort? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

it has been awhile - but think they liked it.

that say - think you can do better for about the same price

both doubletree and lbv bw - will take 5 people. they have very good transportation so no need to drive (and pay WDW price for parking)

so unless you have a coupon or other discount for tropical palms - you might consider something else
