Most of our AR's are at other resorts. I was wondering if it might be worth 100.00 to get a car for the week so we can drive over there. Instead we would have to catch a bus to a park, then catch the resort bus to the resort, then catch a bus back to a park, then catch a bus back to POP, right? Also do we have to pay for parking?
We will need a car the last day because we are going to Emerils for dinner that night.

TIA

I always rent a car staying onsite or not.

Gives me flexibility and I can run to a grocery store for something if I want, eat offsite, shop, and we usually go to Universal for a day.

herc.

where are your PS dinning reservations.

if most are at an MK resort or Epcot resort - no you don't need a car.

to get to the mk you just take a bus from your resort going to the MK - then monrail to that resort.

for the Epcot resort you just take a bus going to studios then boat or walk to the epcot resorts.

come back the same way - very easy.

the only problem would come if the parks closes to the resort you are eating at closes - then you might have problems. but remember that the resort buses that pick up from the parks run an hour to two hours once the park is closed.

besides security won't leave a WDW guest stranded.

so I won't get a car.

however renting a car for one day can be expensive - very expensive. So I would reconsider that reservation.

Thanx for the replies. We have AR's at

Kona Cafe--Poly
Concourse SH---Contemporary
Ohana--Poly
Whispering Canyon--Wilderness Lodge

The rest are in the parks.

transport to those resorts is pretty easy because of their proximity to the theme parks, and imo bringing your own car may be more trouble than it's worth...

would you consider taking a few cabs? their rates are reasonable, they will pick you up at your resort (or a theme park) and take you wherever you are going...

we have some dinner ps' at other resorts and it's our plan to grab a cab to get to them, then take a bus or boat or monorail to a theme park for the evening "show" (i.e. wishes or illuminations) and then head back to our resort...

I always get a car for my stays. I enjoy the flexibility it gives me. This year we are venturing to Universal for one day. Last year we went to the outlet malls often too (and probably will this year too).

Poly, contemp, and WL can be reached easily from TTC or Main Gate at the Magic Kingdom. Get on Resort Monorail to Poly and Contemporary. Take boat to WL from the Main Entrance at Magic Kingdom.
