I was talking to my DH last night about our vacation. He is not the one planning it and does not know anything about DCL! Can you imagine! He is so bogged down with finishing grad school he has no interest in the vacation right now.
I told him about Nassau or staying on the ship. He really wants to stay on the ship. I am looking forward to that. What can we do and are there shows going on? Just wanted to know what people did on the ship when most are off of it. We are getting a REAS package- maybe we could have our massage that day.

We stayed on the ship in Nassau last November ... we slept in late that morning, did Topsiders for breakfast, went to the theater for a movie, went to a seminar, lounged around the room, and relaxed all the way around. This year we might go into Nassau, if we don't we'll be slugs on the ship again ;)

Nassau day also tends to be the day you can do bridge tours ;)

A good day to use the pool too, not crowded.

We have cruised a few times, and both gotten off and stayed on. When we stay on the ship, we just relax and pop into whatever activities sound interesting for htat day. Nothing is crowded,a dn there are lots of chances to read on deck, check out the artwork around the ship, swim in the adult pool, etc.

On our last trip, we did get off to take our own tour to Ardasta Gardens. We got a taxi (just off the boat). The Ardasta Garden is a very modest tropical garden and animal park. The big attraction (apart from the lovely plants) are the Marching Flamingos - entertaining in a really low key way. We adults enjoyed our day and got a different view of town than a bigger crowded tour. I wouldn't really reccomend it for kids - too low key. The whole trip took about two and a half hours (10-15 minute taxi ride each way)

On our next trip we will probably stay on the ship again.

Have fun!
