Staying On Site with no package

Hello! I need a little help with my upcoming vacation. My sister and I got invited to go with some other family next month. They are going the 4th through the 7th. They already have a room booked at the art of music resort for us but we are paying for our own park tickets and not doing a vacation package. I have never done anything like this before. I have stayed at Disney in the past and have always done the vacation package. So I'm flying a little blind on what to do here. How would I go about using fastpasses, extra magic hours and the like? Do I just link our tickets to the my Disney experience app and buy magic bands while we are there? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You get Magic Bands with your room reservation.

Link the tickets and book your FPs ASAP.

EMH are tied to your room. You don't need a package to use bands and EMH.

Thank you so much!! One more quick question, can I link the room they reserved for us and the tickets to my personal MDE account or do we have to use theirs?
