I took the plunge and cancelled our last two days at Disney to stay on-site at Universal to take advantage of the on site privileges. That said, because of the express passes, do you think it's necessary to get a two day park to park, or is a two day base ticket ok? We've been to IoA before, but not US, and are mainly going for the early entry to IoA on our second day.

I would get the park to park for $20 more a ticket. You may want to go to both parks in one day. Also, usually park hours vary by one hour for each park could be another reason to hop. Maybe consider a 3 day since you will have hotel express on the day you check out also.

Did you price your tickets at Undercover tourist?

I agree. I don't think I've ever been and not visted both parks in the same day. Often we start at IOA, go to USF and then back to IOA.

We usually do hop, but I think you would be fine without hopping if you wanted to save the money. You can get everything done at each park in one day with onsite express, but hopping gives you the flexibility to return to your favorites.

If you are a Costco member (I noticed you are from Seattle, so it's likely ;)), Costco has three-day park to park tickets in the warehouse for $145. These tickets don't expire until 2015, so if you anticipate a return trip to Florida by 2015, you will have a day left to use then, or you could use it on your checkout day if you had time.

We are going to US/IOA for one day after a cruise in January and I am getting the Costco tickets - it's like pre-paying for a two day mini-vacation sometime in the next couple of years! :cool1:
