Hi, when you stay on site & do TL or BB, where do you leave your wallet & such? In the safe in the room? Or do you take it with you and rent a locker?

Are the lockers safe? Are they ever "picked" or broken into?

Last time we did TL, dh & I took turns watching our stuff. I'd like to be able to do things together this time. I'm wondering if we leave most of the stuff (not that we bring much anyway) in the room and take $20 or so and rent a locker.

I would think since we are staying concierge this trip, thus a special key is needed to access the floor, our room would be a bit "safer" than the average room.

Hi Kim! When I became a DIS sponser, they sent me one of those water wallet things, I guess that's what they're called, it's a plastic thing big enough for money, a small wallet, room keys, car keys and in my case cigarrettes. You wear it around your neck like a lanyard. I took it to WDW last month and used it in the pools all the time. Everything stayed dry. You might look at the DISstore, I think they sell them. It's lime green of course and has DISboards on it.

Hi Kim,

What Jenn is talking about is the water wallets and they do work very well. I got mine at WalMart for $.97 and now I regret not getting more because I can't seem to find them. The DS do not sell them but they are on line, if you put in "water wallet" you should come up with several options, but I found that you can get them at either water park for about $5 so you might be better getting them there because even the cheapest online still had s/h charges that are more than the item costs! Also its a nice souvenier. I went on a solo trip 2 years ago and went to TL and just took my debit card, room key, and some cash and was fine. Left my digital camera in the room and was never touched and I was staying at a moderate (CBR) so I think most of the rooms onsite are safe. I bought a waterproof camera and got some great pictures, specially of the shark reef swim, LOVED IT! Most of the day I left my towel, sunblock, cream and sunglasses on a chair and everything was always there when I got back. The majority of the people at the parks are families and they are more interested in having fun than what you might leave behind. Of course use your judgement for very expensive items (which I would never take to the parks anyway) and leave them under lock and key. I used the lockers just to keep my clothes and sneakers in to return to the hotel (the buses get too cold when you're traveling in wet clothes). HTH Have a wonderful trip.

We just left all our stuff on one loungechair. Room key, a little cash, towels, etc. I covered the whole mess with our towels. No one even bothered it. And we did not babysit it, either. We were checking in with it every once in a while, because that's where we stored the refillable mug.

this is a great post! last time we went to TL we put stuff in lockers
(left fanny pack in trunk of car - IS THIS A GOOD THING TO DO??)
and left the locker key and little cash and sneakers at lounge chair.

Was this bad to do??

:wave2:

I usually go to a theme park in the morning and water park in the afternoon after I'm done at the theme park. I put my shoes and clothes and fanny pack in a locker and take my towel and book and disposable camera and a little cash with me in a tote bag that I just leave on my lounge chair. I tuck the cash in the book on the page corresponding to my birthday. That way if anyone just rifles through my things really quickly, they're not likely to find it. But no one has ever messed with my stuff. The keys to the lockers come on a strong elastic type band that you can wear around your wrist, which is what I do. I leave all my valuable stuff in the hotel room. I've never had a problem.

Enjoy your visit to the water parks!
