Hi, getting closer to finalizing my cruise arrangements. What is available at this time for cat 6, is deck 5 and deck 6. The deck 5 room is a little better than the deck 6 room so I am leaning towards deck 5. We have previously stayed on Deck 7, but I am trying to save a few $ by going with cat 6 instead of 5.

About deck 5... what is it like? I notice the theater and kids clubs are there. We won't be using the kids clubs since my daughter will be in common grounds, so the convenience is not a plus. But I was wondering, is it really noisy on Deck 5? Lots of hall traffic? Or is it nice staying on Deck 5 because there are less staterooms? Just curious about this. I will love this trip no matter what deck we choose, but obsessing over these details is all I have to go on til our next trip. Thanks!

We're on deck 5 on the Nov 30th Eastern Magic! Yahoo Secret porthole #5520
Im thrilled because DS10.5 will be able to check himself in & out of the lab without us worrying about him. And he enjoys watching movies. And we can look down on the atrium. I heard it wasnt too noisy. Im psyched

We stayed on deck 5 in 5504 cat. 8. It was great. No noise. I am sure there may have been a little noise while the shows where going on in the Walt Disney Theater just below us, but we were not in the room at that time. You would enjoy deck 5, I am sure of that.

Thanks for the replies. I feel better already! Any more comments welcome :D

I've been on Deck 5 twice already - Navigator's verandah (aft) and Verandah (aft). We are booked for the verandah on Deck 5 aft for the next 3 cruises - we love it there!

One deck down from Animator's Palate - muster station; two down from Parrot Cay and just a fast ride to Topsiders and the 24 hr coffee bar. down the hall from the theater and kids clubs.

We found it convenient and quiet.

Happy sailing!

Absolutely LOVED deck 5. Asked for it again for this October. It was soooo quiet and felt like we were the only ones there. Wonderful! We were in 5520 in January and got it again for Oct.

We just stayed in 5132 in May and loved it. Much better IMO than deck 7 which is where I'd stayed previously. Deck 5 is just much more interesting with the atrium, theatre etc.

Weve been on deck 5 twice, once in 5013 and once in 5522(sph). We love it there. Its not too far to go up or down to anything. We never had any extra noise from the kids club or the theater. The only thing we did hear out of the ordinary was one night in 5013 we happened to be in our room when the late show underneath us was over(under most circumstances you would be at dinner when the other show is going on). We heard clapping for probably 1 minute, but that was it. Nothing to be a nuisance.

Deck 5 is the best...my absolute favorite!!
As a matter of fact, that's where you'll almost always find me, either in 5650 or in a non-adjoining secret porthole room. Deck 5 is convenient (right in the middle), and even though the kids clubs are there, you would never know it. Disney does a fabulous job of keeping them separate from the staterooms. When I have a verandah, I like to be as close as possible to the water, and that's deck 5. My preference is aft because it is the quietest area. The attraction of the secret porthole rooms is, of course, the "free" view, but they tend to be noiser because they are at the head of the hall and you get more people walking by. But that can happen anywhere...in my opinion, Deck 5 is the best place to stay on the ship.

WOW! I'm really psyched! Thanks so much for the input, everybody!

The forward rooms on Deck 5 are forward of the Forward stairs/elevators. The aft rooms are aft of the Aft stairs/elevators. So there's no reason for any of the public traffic from the Club/Lab/Theatre to go wandering down your hall. The noise will be minimal.

Loved it - Loved it - Loved it!! Can't imagine any other deck being easier to get around and get to and from!!

So happy to hear all the great reviews of Deck 5, as that's where we'll be in November. I CAN'T WAIT!
