I know this has probably been asked a million times but I can't for the life of me remember the answer. I will be staying on points checking in on a Sunday and checking out on Friday. If I decide to pay cash for the Saturday night before and the Friday I check out, will I have to change rooms? Or, do they link the reservations to avoid having to change rooms. How does it work for trash and towel day? Thanks for the help.

Kevin :)

They will link them for you. They will clean your room top to bottom just like a regular resort stay when paying cash, you just get T & T on the point days.

Kevin,

They will link the rooms if you make your reservation through MS. If you go through CRO, they cannot be linked and you might have to change rooms.

If you use the 25% member discount, you will not get housekeeping, it is treated as a member stay. I am currently at OKW, I got the member discount for last Friday & Saturday, then on points Sunday to Thursday nights. I got trash & towel on Monday, which was day 4 counting the cash nights. Our room keys & parking pass are for the entire stay.

I talked to MS about saving a few dollars by switching to an AP rate, they said they could not link them and we would not be guaranteed to stay in the same room. So for $20 a night (x 2 nights), I didn't switch it.

For a CRO stay they won't guarantee you won't have to move but will try. Just make sure the resort and MS are aware then remind them when you check in. I suspect as a minimum you'll have to recheckin for the cash day.

We get 25% off at DVC resorts? I thought it was 10%?
Do most people do this-
Use points for the week and cash for Friday and Saturday night?
Is the 25% off better than CRO discount codes usually or no?
Thanks!

Generally it is better to book a cash room with a code thru CRO than to try for the member discount. I have gotten 1/2 price rooms at DVC resorts before, two years ago at Christmas I got BWV one bedroom for $229 per night, this year in the summer I got a one bedroom for $300, not as good, but MS couldn't get me any discount. If you are booking a combination of cash and points, make sure they know at the front desk and you should be OK. I have never been moved to a different room under these circumstances, but there is a lot of paperwork at the front desk with check out and in again.

I just purchased a week at OKW through II for $1,400 in a 2BR first week of June. I have also booked one weekend night on cash, and have two add'l nights on points. Anyone have any thoughts on whether all of these rooms can be linked.

Hoping!

Thanks.

Brian.

Unlikely they will be linked but it's possible. Frankly I wouldn't say much about the rental as it's against II rules to do so. Also, make sure the extra $95 fee has been paid as it must be paid before you get to WDW or they may cancel your reservation.

The member discount is not guaranteed. They only give it if they anticipate that the room will not be booked for points (it comes from points inventory). In my case, I called about 60 days before. They put me on hold while they called someone to get approval. The rack rate for an OKW 1 br was $385, the member discount was $288, the code rate was $285 and the AP rate was $270, all before tax. The AP rate didn't come out until late last month. I was hoping for under $250, which the AP rate has been before, I would have switched it for that much difference. One thing about the member discount, you do not have to make a deposit, the entire amount is charged at check-in. You do have to leave a credit card # as a guarantee when you book it, 1 night will be charged if cancelled less than 6 days prior.

and the accommodations. I just ran into this at BCV and found out that since my first 5 days on points was in a guaranteed 2 bed - 2 bedroom and then friday and sat were cash, I could not link those because cash was only for the one bed and queen sofa sleeper in the second bedroom. Therefore I could not link those and were guaranteed to move. This is the only resort like this and it is only for the 2 bedroom. Not sure if this is your case but just wanted to warn you. I changed my friday and sat to points so I now have those nights in a 2 bed 2 bedroom and still waiting for my last 3 nights in a 2 bed second bedroom.
