Hi all. We were at WDW in January and I really appreciated all the tips and ideas I read on these boards. This was our second family trip. Last year, we took our 4 year old and stayed at Pop. This year we took all the kids (5, 2 1/2 and 6 months) and grandma. We stayed in a 3 bedroom townhouse at Emerald Island Resort and rented a minivan. I rented a crib for the week also. It really worked out great. We loved having our own car so much better than the Disney buses. We spent so much time last year waiting for buses in the morning and at night. Then, chances are, you would not get a seat on the bus and have to stand with your tired feet!! We also saved alot of money on food and ate much better food than what they have at the food court. We spent alot of time at the parks so we did not get a private pool, but there was a community pool right behind us. We also found driving around Orlando very easy

We're looking at staying offsite as well, it's our 1st trip. could you PM me with the name of the people you rented from? We are looking at villas, condos, townhouses etc but are leery of renting from someone that hasn't been recommended...tIA!

We have stayed off sit too. We rented a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. I can't tell you how nice and clean this place was. All I can say about this home is what you see IS really what you get!!!!! :thumbsup2 Gary and Anne really know how to take care of every little thing.

Please check out their web page : www.tuscan-ridge.com

We stayed there in 02-05 and are going back in 02-07

Any other question please feel free to ask me :goodvibes

We have all that, but we stay on site at one of the Disney Vacation Club sites, so we get the Magic, too.

DVC rules! You should check it out sometime if you get a chance.

If you do decide to rent DVC pts, rent a car, too. although most of the time we find the buses super--but we go on 'off' times--we do enjoy the convenience of a car at certain times--park closings, for instance. we also like to explore Orlando & other close by communities as well as SW & hope to hit Crystal Springs, soon

Good to hear you had a terrific trip! :thumbsup2

Jean
