As the title says we're staying offsite and always do. Last time we came we had a breakfast at the Grand Floridian and another at Chef Mickey's.

Which resorts should we visit and to see what? DW wants to see the ariel statue (art of animation i think??), what other 'sights' are there to take in, quirky shops etc.....

:goodvibes

The Poly has a nice shop that is a bit different from the norm and the main building is nice to look around too.

In fact any of the deluxes are worth a visit they all have a unique atmosphere.

The values are fun for the larger than life decor.

Wouldn't bother with the mods unless you are considering a future stay if you are just looking around. The food court at POR does some good choices for counter service food if you are interested in that (but there is better and cheaper choices offsite ;) )

We like food court at POFQ for Beignets :thumbsup2

The Contemporary is good to see the monorail running through and the Grand Floridian is so beautiful, you have to see that too. To me, the most beautiful resort of all is Wilderness Lodge though. You have to see the geyser erupt :-)

I agree with Tracy, the shop at the Poly is a little different to the normal. I also like the gift shop at the Contemporary.

You could pay Wilderness Lodge a visit on a Magic Kingdom day by taking the boat across to the resort.

It's a lovely resort to have a look around!

The mods have the least to see but are still my fav's for relaxation. AoA is great to walk around. The Cars part of that is well worth walking around, its so well done. We normally have a day of just touring the hotels. We catch a boat to DTD from POR, pick up the bus to the WL, pick up a boat to CR, pick up a monorail to all the mono rail resorts then catch a boat from GF to MK and take a bus to the boardwalk and walk around all the resorts there. We love doing this and using all the different transport, especially during Christmas time when all the resorts have their trees up.:)

Sounds like i should visit all of them!

We've done the shops at contemporary, very nearly bought a monorail set and a bucket load of extra track from the central gift shop, just the lack of luggage space that stopped me!!

we bought the WDW Train and it goes around our Christmas tree:goodvibes

We stay offsite and Fort Wilderness is always on our list. Pony ride for kiddo, campfire sing along with chip n dale great fun too. Art of Animation is so well themed and having a Cars obsessed boy it's a must do.

We have the monorail set and the Contemporary resort that goes with it :thumbsup2

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a very nice resort. You could go there in the late afternoon to see the Savannah, then dine at Boma (my favourite restaurant) and after the dinner go and see the animals using the infra red binoculars (this is open to anyone, I think, not only resort guests).

Don't forget to head to The Boardwalk or Yacht & Beach club resorts. You can have a wander around the lake or rent a Surrey Bike. It's best in the evenings for street entertainers and maybe catch some of the Epcot fireworks or for adults only you could go to Jelly Rolls:goodvibes
