Review Staying offsite Christmas week?

Is the traffic bad? We are thinking of staying part of the week at Caribe Royale or WH. Is it is better to stay onsite the whole time due to the heavy crowds?

We will be there Christmas week as well. No way would I want to attempt parking. Have you thought about staying at one of the DTD hotels? They are not owned by Disney, but they have transportation to the parks that runs pretty much just like the Disney busses. We are staying at the DTD Hilton - it's the one that still gets the EMH at the parks and it's right across the street from DTD.

We decided to stay 2 nights at Residence Inn Sea World for the SW part of the trip and the rest at CBR.

This is our third trip Christmas Week. We are staying at the Waldorf this year because of the great deal we got. We go to the parks and stay there all day so although traffic will be an issue, we hope not too much. Dont plan to go to MK Christmas day unless you get there at opening. We are planning to just take a cab every day. We are saving enough that even when you factor that in its still a savings.

I've done it once, and stayed at the AKL. We spent a lot of time at the resort actually. The crowds were very high - so we'd go to a park, and usually head back to the resort later when it go too crowded. The one exception was NYE when we did an illuminations cruise, then took a cab back from the Yacht Club.

For that week, if it were me, I'd stay onsite. And if it were me, I'd stay at the Boardwalk area. We love walking around, and there is so much right there. I'd do offsite any other week, but for that week, I'd recommend onsite.
