Staying Offsite and Getting Reservations?

For the first time our group of 21 (5 families) is staying offsite when we go to Disney World this summer. I booked a house last year when it looked like we would have limited restaurants available. Each family will be doing their own reservations. I know we will have to get up early for several mornings as we will only be able to make reservations one day at a time. Has anyone had luck with getting dining reservations for popular restaurants on day 1? Do you make your dining reservation and then park reservation, or vise versa? Thanks for advice!

It probably depends on a few things, like which restaurant, the day of the week, and time of the year. Some of the restaurants will likely be gone at 60 days, but there should be many options available for you. Just have a 'plan B' or even 'plan C' ready for any particular day. If it were us, we'd have a park reservation now. If we wanted a restaurant that day at that park, and we had to adjust, we'd change the park reservation later. But better to have a spot in the park first (although, 60 days out, that might not matter anyway). Good luck and have a great time with the large group!

Getting park reservations ASAP could be essential as busy as summer can be.

You can always juggle dining reservations wherever you can get them in the park of the day, book them at Disney Springs or book more resort ones than you might really want. Park reservations can't be shifted about.

If you're wanting any large group meals, those could be a definite problem. I suspect any whole-group meals are better done offsite unless you want to get in touch with large group catering to see what is possible on property.
