I would try to cut your costs in some other category and not the hotel one. Do you have AAA? If not, the $50-60 it would cost to join in your area may help fray some other costs. Disney does give AAA members a room only discount and depending on when you want to go, the price to stay in a Value is awesome. The discounts are subject to WDW availability. I'd seriously consider that before I'd stay someplace questionable.

Like others have said, you can always use your AAA discount off property as well.

We're going in Oct. and was able to secure $69 per night at the Comfort Suites Maingate East using the Orlando Magic Card Rate, this helped out on the rate if you're interested.

After careful consideration we have decided cancel our off site reservations and stay onsite at the All Star Movie Resort.
