Staying off property, old MBs, FP+, AP...help!

So we have our annual fall trip all planned but over the weekend, we decided we wanted to head to FL in June for a week to visit some family so we can take our foster son on a family vacation before he is reunited with his biological family later in the summer. I need help figuring this all out. Can someone break it down for me as to what we have to do. I have called guest services with zero help whatsoever.

We are planning on staying off site at Buena Vista Suites. We have three 2 day WP & More Hopper passes that we are planning on using for DH, DS and my mom. I am planning on buying an AP because I have to turn around and buy a10 day hopper ticket in September anyways so this will save us ~$20 plus give us free parking and the ability to buy TIW and use it on both trips.

We also have old MBs from our trip last fall. We have new ones for the upcoming trip as well but I figured I would leave those alone and use the old ones if it was possible.

Since we need 4 FP+ reservations, we need 4 sets of tickets correct? We only have 3 and my AP won't be activated until we actually get on property. I can buy it now but I don't know if that will matter.

Anyone have any suggestions how to navigate this? I don't know what we should do in order to be able to prebook anything.

You will need 4 sets of tickets to make 4 FP+ reservations. You could buy a voucher for your AP which would give you the ability to make FP+ reservations 30 days out since you are staying off site. And because it's a voucher, the expiration date will be 1 year from the first day of use, not the purchase date, so you will get a full year out of it.

The MagicBands shouldn't really matter. As long as they are connected to the same profile in MDE, you won't notice a difference between them. I have 5 different MagicBands and all of them work the same way when I'm down there.

Thank you so much! That's what I was hoping. I didn't think the AP voucher would allow me to do anything but that's great news. I will buy it this weekend then. We were just going to let our son use one of DHs old MBs...will that be a problem since his name is attached to it?

Okay I am on MDE now and it looks like that won't work because my husband can't have 2 MBs active at the same time. Anyone know of any other option to get our son a MB to use?

He doesn't need a MB to make FP+ reservations, if that's what you're concerned about...?

We just have ours and I didn't want him to feel left out that he wouldn't have one to use. If he can't use one then none of us will...not a huge deal. We just have 12 of them already so I was hoping he could use one but again, not a big deal if he can't.

He is supposed to be reunited with his bio family sometime this summer but I got an email less than 2 minutes ago from a caseworker saying everything is on hold now which could push everything back so I am going to try to add him to our fall trip just in case he is still with us. I figure I am better off having him on there rather than scrambling at the end trying to add him. Ahh, the life of a foster parent...I love it but for a planner like me it is soooo hard to not know what's is happening day to day!
