I might be in Orlando in early December on business, and am trying to find recommendations for decent hotels and prices in the convention center area. Does anybody have any experience? If only I could convince work to send us to a Disney resort...:lmao:
(while there, must find a way to get away from work, :tiptoe: and spend time with Mickey)

Thank you for your help,

I had a good experience with La Quinta Inn Convention Center. We went on a holiday weekend and got a rate of $95/night which included breakfast (bagels, waffles, muffins). Just be sure to request a room away from the pool, as it got a little loud when we were there.

I stayed at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites on Universal Blvd in May. It's within walking distance to the Convention Center (short walk - only 1 hotel between SH Suites & the Convention Center) but still a HOT walk! Also within walking distance to clubs, restaraunts, stores, etc. on International Drive. I think it was $139/nt (company paid so I'm not positive) but it was a very nice hotel. 2-room suite, free breakfast daily that was great, wonderful staff, quiet pool (small but nice). They do have free scheduled shuttles to & from WDW daily as well, that I used. I would stay there again if I needed to be by the Convention Center.

Thanks for:

1. The answers. I have to go to work soon, but will look into those areas when I get time.

2. Moving the thread. Really. We frequent the Disney Resorts board, and I looked around there for a place to put this thread. I didn't go out to the main boards list, and didn't even know this one existed.

As I did for Tara sometime ago (I think), I always recommend that SpringHill Suites right off of Universal Blvd. Its a solid hotel literally right next to the convention center. I would also recommend, in this order, Crowne Plaza Universal, The Peabody, Hampton Inn & Suites CC, and the Fairfield Inn on Canada. Any of these would be fine.
