Staying in Convention Center area, questions

Staying at the Embassy Suites on Jamacian Court in a few weeks for a convention. Normally, when in Orlando, we go from the airport to WDW or PC. We have several questions about the area we're staying in:

1. Can you walk from the ES to the Orlando Convention Center? Sidewalks?

2. Where are some good places to eat in this part of Orlando?

3. And, most important: how best to get to WDW. Our Sunday is free time, and we've never seen WDW at Christmas-time. The hotel doesn't have a shuttle.

I can't help with the other questions but I can with this one.You can take the southbound Lynx bus #8 on International Dr. to the Sea World exit then transfer to Lynx Bus #50 to WDW. The bus will let you off at the WDW Ticket and Transportation Center. Don't forget to ask for a free transfer when you board the bus. There is also a trolley that runs up and down International Dr. Check out www.iridetrolley.com and www.golynx.com.

Just had time to look at the trolley site. Looks very interesting, and helpful. Perhaps we'll get 3 day passess, and be able to travel the loop. Called them, and have ordered the brochure.

The I ride is definately a good option if you have not got a car. We had a car in May but still used the I ride to get to Seaworld and Aqauatica as it was cheaper than parking.

If you look at the I ride map on their website you can find your hotel and then see all the restaurants nearby.

Not sure about the walk, but if you get an I ride or Lynx pass then you can use these to get to the convention centre.

Thank you! We certainly don't mind walking. Our greyhound has us used to a walk every day.

Anybody have dining experiences in this part of Orlando?
