staying at WL

Your thoughts.? This is our 2nd time to the World and I surprised my DW by booking WL. She thought we were going to stay POR, but I promised her on the last day that if we ever come back we will stay at WL. I am good at remembering stuff like that. Well when we got back from our Disneymoon in April, I had to beg for another trip. The sadness got to me. So not even 2 weeks after being home we started looking. Well we found Magical Journeys. I love the fact that they keep looking for discounts for you and then apply them to you.

I had the person at MJ book our POR and after talking with her a couple of times and seeing how much it would cost to stay at WL, it really wasn't that much. Espically for the time we are going, early December. Even she got in on fooling my DW. She booked the WL and sent me the receipt but still had the fake receipt for POR just in case DW inquired about anything. Well one day, DW was reading on the DIS that there is supposed to be some touching up at POR around the time we are going. I told her that I couldn't do it to her any longer and told her about WL. Her jaw dropped and it was the best. Now for the question.

We have a standard room. I know we will not be in the room all that much, but any requests about what rooms to request upon the standard rooms.?

2) What kind of views are they?

3) If you wanted to, could you go in the middle of the night and just sit in front of the fire or walk around outside for night time pictures?

4) What time do they start allowing you to rent the boats?

5) Do they rent the bikes there or are they rented at Ft. Wilderness?

6) What is the best way to get to HDDR at night staying at WL? Do you walk, drive your car, take a bus, I guess it would be too dark to do the bikes?

7) Does the gueyser happen every hour on the hour?

8) Can you swim at whatever time you wanted and is the pool(s) heated?

9) What all fun stuff can you do at the WL and FT. Wilderness?

Hi . I can't answer all of your questions, but will try to answer some.

We actually do this pretty much each trip to WL. The lobby is practically empty, so the pictures come out great. We bring a tripod with us and get some great low-lighting shots without a flash. Kind of hard to do with a bunch of people walking around.

5) Do they rent the bikes there or are they rented at Ft. Wilderness?

Yes, they rent the bikes there at WL

6) What is the best way to get to HDDR at night staying at WL? Do you walk, drive your car, take a bus, I guess it would be too dark to do the bikes?

You could walk over if it is still light outside, or take the boat. I wouldn't ride the bikes because the path is not lit.

7) Does the gueyser happen every hour on the hour?

Yup!

8) Can you swim at whatever time you wanted and is the pool(s) heated?

Yes, the pools are heated. Not sure about the times though.

You are going at the very best time of the year, it will be all decked out for Christmas. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We ended up buying DVC at VWL- now that is the monster we created, a very expensive monster! I just realized I answered your question about the cocoa, no, I am not stalking you.
