Hello everyone!

I'd like to get everyone's opinions on which of the two resorts to stay at first? We will be doing 9 nights total....

4 nights at WL, then 5 nights at AK, or the other way around? We have not stayed at either resort, and couldn't decide, so we chose to do a split stay.

TIA!

I like to end my trip with the Magic Kingdom, so I'd pick WL for the end of the trip. It is really nice to take the boat over to the parks, maybe take a boat over to do Chef Mickeys. That is how we ended our trip this year.

Im the opposite ... I like to start at Magic Kingdom!
Historically, we've arrived Friday or Saturday, burnt a day getting adjusted and then its over to the MK.

We like to end our WDW trips with a grand finale of some kind either Fantasmic!, Illuminations or Fantasy in Sky Fireworks after a good Dinner as we're usually on the road first thing the next day.

Each to their own, I suppose but for me its WL then AKL. Nothing beats getting there and seeing that fantastic lobby after 20+ of travelling ... its like coming home to me after a long day ... ;)

Ive been thinking of broaden my horizons and booking YC or BC this year instead of AKL. But WL first is a definite.

Good luck with your choice!

Having done the exact same thing in December....I have a VERY definite opinion on this one.....
Do WL first.....then AKL....

Just trust me on this one :) :)

I agree that it depends on what park or activity you plan to do early in your trip. If you are going to hit MK a lot and have several PS in that part of the world, do WL first. Particularly if you have an early breakfast PS in MK.

We do WL or CR first. In a 7 day visit, at least four are at MK and it is always our first park. For our four year old, WDW=MK:-) At the latter stage of our trip, our park time and dining shifts towards AKL and we move. No matter what you do, they both are beautiful resorts that offer unique experiences for their guests. Enjoy!

I want to thank everyone who took the time to reply!

Wilderness Lodge here we come!

Then it's HELLLLLOOOOOOOO Animal Kingdom!

I am so glad to have found this board and be among all of you Disney Overplanners (DO)!

:teeth:

Glad you made that decision. We always tend to start off our trip like gang buster but need a little more down time later in the week. AKL is perfect for that. You never have to leave the resort. With all the animals and the CM from Africa it's a theme park in itself. I'm sure Disney would not like to hear we skip the parks when we're at AKL but I just can't bear to leave.
