Staying at WDW Resort Before Cruise?

I'm taking a 7 night cruise in 2004 on the Magic. The more I think about it, it will drive me crazy to not see WDW while I'm there, so I am thinking about arriving 2 days prior to the cruise and staying at WDW.

I never rent a car; I tend to use Tiffany Town Car. I could take Tiffany Town Car to WDW from the airport. Then two days later get ready to go to the pier. How do I get to the pier then? Can I have a town car service take me from the WDW hotel to the pier and then pick me up after the cruise? Or do you think there is a better way to go about this? Seems kind of confusing, lol.

Thanks!

Yes, you can set it up with Tiffany to bring you to WDW, then pick you up at your resort & bring you to the pier, then pick you back up at the pier and bring you to the airport! They do this all the time! :)

Jennifer the swan and dolphin offer a DCL special of $99.00 per night for up to 28 day prior or after your cruise , we always go to the world before or after our cruises.
we also have taken Tiffany to the port as we did not like the time DCl was leaving from the resort would put us at the port around 2 and we wantedto be there earlier... then we just take the DCl bus back to airport when we leave the cruise....

It is confusing. I just went thru this a couple nights ago. We are staying at the BWV's for a week then going on the Wonder. I was indecisive (sp?) for the last couple months. It was costing us the same for a towncar as it was (just about) to rent a car. But I don't need a car for the whole two weeks. Ugh! I ended up getting a great rate from Alamo from the airport for just 3 days. Enough time to do groceries and Margarittaville one night. We are dropping the car off at the Dolphin mid week and then taking DCL to the pier and from the pier to the airport. I haven't checked on the times from the World to the pier yet though. Good Luck.

We did just what you are thinking of. TTC drove us from the Airport to the Poly on Wed. The next morning, the same driver picked us up at the Poly and drove us to the port. Sunday he picked us up at the port and drove us to the airport. It wasnt confusing at all and actually worked well. Each time he told us just where he would meet us the next time, and he was always there. I would do it that way again.

Thanks, Everyone!

You answered my questions! CamColt, we are planning on doing exactly what you did. Any idea what the approximate cost was for the crazy Tiffany schedule? :)

This was news to me and may cause me to rethink our four days before the cruise. Do you know if there are any restrictions on this? Thanks.

Our quote for Swan/Dolphin was $149/night. I'm not sure if it's because of peak holiday time. I'll check and let you know when we get back. All other nice hotels at Disney were over $300. Moderates and budgets were all full. We are nuts to be trying this over Christmas break!

the $99.00 rate
i have not been able to find anything on this rate, however i would try contacting DCL and ask them or the swan and tell them your story

..... i just know that alot of people have done this .......

some one please help.... peter

Webmaster Michelle just emailed me with the answer to this. She said that the $99 rate will expire at the end of the year, but she will find out about any special rates for 2003 ASAP.

Thanks. Since I'm letting DU handle my resssies, I'll email them too to ask them to keep an eye out for these rates in 2003. If I switch, it'll probably be only for the two nights we have booked at CS. I've been waiting too long to try AKL to give up those two nights.

No $99 Rate at the S/D so far:( for 2003. Michelle said she'd keep checking, but right now my Entertainment Card rate is as good as I can get, not being either a teacher or nurse. Too bad they don't have a special rate for insane stay at home mommy types like me!

We did this in August...and Tiffany's quote was about $100 more than Your Rides quote. We used Your Ride and were very, very pleased with them.

Hello!

We just used Tiffany Town Car to take us:

Airport to Animal Kingdom Lodge
AKL to DCL
DCL to Airport

It was $215 plus tip. I just emailed them my schedule, then followed up with a phone call the night before we departed. Everything was on time with great service.

Good Luck,

Lisa

We are arriving in Orlando International Airport early on a Wednesday and renting a car from thrifty -- (got an unbelievable rate). We are staying at the Contemporary through Saturday. Want the car to do one day at Islands of Adventure (that other theme park). LOL We are then driving back to the airport on Saturday and taking the Disney bus (Mears) from the airport (roundtrip) to the Dock to begin our 7-day Eastern cruise. I priced so many different combinations, it made my head spin! This was the best deal by far that gave us the convenience of having a car for our 3+ days in Orlando. Whatever you choose -- have a great cruise! Jack
