I'm always amazed at the number of people that I see on these boards who split their trips between two resorts! Since I am in a quandry about where to stay next time - it sounds like a good idea.

Question: Does it have to be booked room only to do this?

As I haven't booked the current plan offered I can't answer if they will split your booking between two hotels (certainly can't hurt to ask) In the past I have booked my split stays as room only. You may have to look into making 2 seperate bookings and you would probably need to analyze the cost of doing so if your booking the current package with free dining.

I love staying at 2 or even 3 resorts during my stays. I know there are plenty of people who think it is more of a bother to pack up and move but I am usually either solo or with another adult and I only pack for 5 days (I don't mind doing a load of laundry inbetween swimming) no matter how long my vacation is there. Needless to say I don't have a ton of stuff to take out or repack to begin with. I put as much thought into where I stay and what I do to make the most of my money. For instance, if you want to split your stay between a value and deluxe, then hit the parks commando when you stay at the value. Leave 1/2 day (maybe a morning) to enjoy the swimming pool there but mainly hit the parks. As your paying more to stay at a deluxe, enjoy more time at that hotel and less time at the parks - this way the last few days your there you get to relax more. I find this works well. Additionally, if you can't afford the more expensive resorts, only book one night there (at end of the trip) and strictly do a resort day and enjoy (this is the only way I would be able to see Poly and YC). By splitting your stays you get the best of every world.

This seems like so much work and lost time for a pleasure that maybe beyond my reach.

I don't hotel hop because I find that it takes up too much time along with the all the tipping from one resort to another. Besides, I'd get confused on which bus to get on! :teeth:

I really want to stay at the Poly - but just spent some time figuring out how much one night would be (about $394) - I can't justify that kind of expense for one night. Maybe someday . . . . .! :earsgirl:
